"It might seem disproportionate, the emotion and the memories I have with him and with that time. But I just felt protected and nurtured and valued and believed in (...) He was encouraging me to discover me."

Rockstar Lestat is such a gorgeus being. In the interviews the crew have listed many artists as the influence for Lestat as rockstar. But there is one artist that hasn't been mentioned yet, but who I see so clearly in Sam Reids portrayal of Lestat for the upcoming series...
That is the late, great Michael Hutchence (1960 - 1997), lead singer of the rock band INXS. Reasons why I think he has influenced Sam Reid are 1. time/age: like Sam Reid, I'm a child of 80s and I grew up listening INXS in the 90s. It's obvious that Sam Reid has had similar exposure to media as I did. 2. Australia: Michael Hutchence and Sam Reid are both australians and I'm sure Michael Hutchence has been all over australian media back in the day, even more than here in Europe. 3. ...You just kinda see it? I don't know if the influence is intentional or not, but I am 100% sure that it is there. Anyway! Please enjoy these songs by INXS and see the similarity yourself:
