How do you feel about driving?
I can drive, I am good at driving, I enjoy driving.
I can drive, I am good at driving, I do not enjoy driving.
I can drive, I am bad at driving, I enjoy driving.
I can drive, I am bad at driving, I do not enjoy driving.
I haven't learned to drive, I think I would enjoy driving.
I haven't learned to drive, I do not think I would enjoy driving.
I can't drive anymore, I was good at it, I enjoyed driving.
I can't drive anymore, I was good at it, I didn't enjoy it.
I can't drive anymore, I was bad at it, I enjoyed it.
I can't drive anymore, I was bad at it, I didn't enjoy it.
INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE | “Best of 2024” lists
the tunnel scene in iwtv s2ep3 is even more harrowing on rewatch bc louis makes two last requests when he thinks he's gonna die- to die by decapitation instead of fire and to make sure claudia was cared for- and the method of execution at the trial would've made sure louis didn't get either of his last requests. he would've burned in the sunlight, death by fire, and since he's a slightly older vampire than claudia the last thing he felt would've been his daughter crumbling to ash in his arms before the sun took him too.
"take my head off if you're gonna do it- i saw what fire does, i don't wanna go out that way"
"look after claudia"..."don't give up on her. tell her she's beautiful. tell her that every morning"
and louis and claudia's trauma around fire is specifically rooted in antiblack violence, the race riot in nola where claudia almost burned to death and louis saw his own business and countless black homes go up in flames- a lynching is an antiblack hate crime by itself, but the specific methods chosen at louis and claudia's lynching are meant to prey on their specific trauma as black southerners oppressed under the jim crow regime and survivors of the 1917 race riot. it was designed to make them suffer in every way possible before their murders.
