I thought of @hthrrloooo when listening to this episode today because he starts out reading a poem by William Stafford called A Ritual to Read to Each Other. And he goes on to talk about the connection between poetry and ritual.
"And one of the things I want to say about ritual is it's kind of like a poem. William Stafford would write a poem every morning. The first word that would come to him when he woke up, he was in a kind of a meditative state, and then the first word that came would be the beginning of a poem. He wrote a poem each day that way. He understood that being a poet, when he was awake, he was awaking into the world of poetry and his task was to catch those things that were trying to become evident, that otherwise might not be present at all."
He later says "ritual is not about being seen but about being present.." and that is also connected to poetry, art, creativity.
