Satan and Me Writing Prompt: Dialogue
"Do you love her, Panagakos?"
Teal eyes locked onto 'hazel' eyes, confused, "What are you talking about?"
"Natalie. Do you love her?"
A blank stare, confused turn down of the lips, a mouthed word "love". "What's love?"
"Oh my g-" Realization hit 'Stan' then
Natalie interrupted then, bringing ice cream to the two waiting people. "Ok, here's mint chocolate chip for Michael, a root bear float for Stan, and a vanilla for me." She gave each ice cream cup to the person mentioned.
Michael looked at the ice cream, then up at Natalie. "Hey, Nat?"
"Hm?"
"What's love?"
Natalie choked on her ice cream; Michael patted her on the back, "W-why do you ask such a thing?"
"Stan and I were just talking and he mentioned something about love. So, what's love, Natalie?"
Natalie glared at Stan who raised his arms up with a sly smirk on his face.
"Excuse us for a moment, Michael" Natalie stood up and dragged Stan and herself away. Once in a semi-private area, "What the hell were you thinking?"
"I was just curious about something!"
"You were just -" an inhale - "Stan... Michael wasn't raised like most humans, his parents abandoned him to become a science experiment in exchange for money. He escaped and destroyed them through legal means but he's coming to terms with what they did to him and others before him. Anything that wasn't explained to him before while he was a subject or after is seen by him as something that the 'scientists' took from him, and often times, causes flashbacks that he can't escape from. Anything can trigger those horrible flashbacks which is why we've been slowly introducing him to things."
