Michael Pinder - The Promise [1976, Threshold Records]
The only solo album from Michael Pinder (of the Moody Blues) is an indistinct jumble of soft rock, psychedelic rock, and folk, without enough sharpness in any of the individual styles to give it firm direction. A talented backing band is all that keeps it from immediately sinking under its own heavy-handedness, and even then, it's a battle they slowly lose over the course of the album. One to avoid.
