“2025 was a wild year for so many reasons and we did some awesome shit but definitely the raddest was releasing new music with the Mock-Ups. @/gerardway and I wrote this music awhile ago and our friend, Doug Mckean, initially recorded and engineered it at Gerard's spot.
Unfortunately, Doug passed away before it was finished. We sat on the music for some time and after a while we decided to finish it up. We hit up @/kevinsweatshop from the @/theinterrupters to have him put his magic touch on it and to finish what Doug started. We would go to Kevin's house and record, drink a bunch of coffee and just hang out. Kevin brought his crazy talented brother, @/jessebivona and wife, @/aimeeinterrupter to throw down as well. Once it was all finished I asked one of my best friends, @/jasonmklein, if he could help put it out on his independent label, @/gauzyrecords.
Jason put so much into this during a pretty wild time in his life and I truly couldn't be more honored doing this with people who I truly love.
This was a true dream - a celebration of a moment in time-friends making punk rock music to make life worth living.
Truly humbled by all the love and support this project has gotten over the past few months and can't wait to see what the future holds.
Up the punx ❤️🔥”

So it seems that many people’s suspicions were correct. This music was originally written with Doug McKean, and Gerard and Michael decided to hold on to it until they could find someone else to do it justice with the production. The comment about how he can’t wait to see what the future holds also bodes well, perhaps there is more on the horizon!
Also as a side note, Michael Schulz’s Instagram is still private I believe so the link will only work if he has accepted you as a follower. I included all images in the post and his full caption as well as the time and date it was posted so all relevant info is included in this post except for comments.

why is tumbler sleeping on Gerards new project???
on the song violet;
the mike he is referring to is mike schulz, he is a fender rep and a close friend of gerard. think the coffee date post with gerard kissing his cheek.
he gifts frank with a lot of guitars and gear, and frank gives him shout outs on instagram.
here’s frank starting the lyrics off for the song even if they weren’t used, but still thought about them throughout. hmm.
using my chem and coheed as inspo is interesting to me
“did you get what you deserve” are lyrics found in both dead and cemetery drive. and anthony just said he was listening to my chem for inspo and his contribution is the lyrics. but sure, some pop song you don’t remember.
you’re going to get what you deserve is a good response to that openended did you get what you deserve.
