So I saw you like Michael from SAM, Do you have any headcanons then :? I'm curious since it doesn't seem like a lot of people like him.
I don’t know why more people don’t like him!! he is great, and I’m quite pleased to remember he’s one of orange’s fav characters (and that she likes michaelie). When the SaM chat server was in full swing, it was weird to realize basically no one really shipped michaelie, or even like michael. rude.
I’m not the kind of person who really hold headcanons, and what I have is kinda weird/finnickey. Also. While I read the updates, it’s been a bit since I’ve read it as a cohesive whole
To break ALL rules of fandom I honestly HC michael as straight. There’s just too much of a thing where feminine men have be to gay/bi? I’d be beyond down if he was bi, but like. Just a man being dramatic, effeminate shouldn’t mean they’re of course into men. break the system
HC tho: Michael has ADD. He’s very energetic and jumpy and I can kinda link him seeming apathetic with just him not having the energy to pay attention to most things unless he cares about them?
This is still technically a headcanon: he has a crush on natalie. come on now y’all. she’s putting up with all the weird and even morally dubious stuff he’s down to her, and is also that too-lovable person. I also think he’s downright jealous of satan for having her in his life, like ‘do you even appreciate this ray of sunshine’ kind of way.
if he was to tell nat he had any feelings for her, she’d just kinda:
I have trouble imagining quite how they’d ever really go canon... but they should. Nat, tho, regardless as to if she likes satan more than friends way, would probably laugh if michael showed any interest in her. just cause it is ridiculous to be an average girl one day, and then have actual satan and goddamn really archangel michael have crushes on you the next.
on the other hand, if they did get together, they’d be REALLY energetic and end up pretty in sync. except when michael gets too ridiculous, nat could bring him down to earth. Reverse, too, since I think they both can get crazy in different ways, and are good balances for each other
Michael isn’t asexual but is 100% chaste and even if he was in a solid relationship and very tempted, would not break celibacy. kinda view that for most of the upper angels, but michael especially is too keen on loyalty to heaven/god
this is probably just canon: michael has no close friends or even friends, really. because of his role he spends plenty of time with others, and they are generally nice/polite to him, but it is pretty clear no one really likes him. he spends a lot time trying to ‘prove’ himself and achieve goals, but his desperation for approval just makes him come off as desperate/annoying.
his need for approval probably comes from the fact god is just, not talking to him, he’s been left to nearly run heaven without very clear instructions
he really likes cheesy pop music and will sing (badly) along whenever he hears a song he knows, even if it’s like, in the supermarket.
he’s generally jealous of satan too, though he would never admit it. satan now is kinda a low key leader like michael is, but his underlings seem to genuinely love/respect him. he seems very put together and calm, and doesn’t seem at all hurt/regretful to have left michael (while michael secretly is really very hurt). he also now has a nice girl who seems to genuinely love him, while michael, who considers himself better than the devil, has no close friends, no feeling of earned respect, and a generally lack of anyone seeming to love him
I think that’s probably daddy issues at this point
michael is probably aware gabriel isn’t actually a friend of his
michael probably spends a long time doing makeup, his hair, just because he wants to look good, and worries if he doesn’t, there’ll never be any chance of folks liking him
