I’m ashamed to say this was my first Michael Redgrave movie and I don’t know why because I adored him from the first moment he appeared on screen. I’m a big fan of Hitchcock films but somehow always missed this 1938 mystery-comedy, The Lady Vanishes. Not surprisingly, everything works really well in this movie. Redgrave is great, Margaret Lockwood is great, the banter is top notch, and it’s an overall fun watch. I HAVE SPENT ABOUT 30 YEARS TRYING TO FIND THIS FILM! I watched it at age 10, loved it, but did never knew the film's name. Its Dead of Night (1945).
