Y/n and her closest friends have finally completed school and are now left to do nothing so they all come together at y/ns house to have a graduation party they have fun but that energy of course dies down in which leads them to play a game which could end in a good way or a bad way...
TW: use of language and alcohol usage of the N word💁🏾♀️...this shouldn't be a issue I mean it's a black reader BUT YEAH ENJOY
Surrounded by lights, half empty cans, and graduation decorations , the four of us sat in a circle on the rug, hyped on crown and other types of drinks and other stuff and the sheer excitement of finally being done with school and spending time with each other
"Okay, okay, serious question," Maya said, leaning back against my bed. "Now that we're officially done with that shit joke of a school... who had the biggest crush on who in our year?"
Anna (Rihanna)scoffed, tossing a crumpled burrito wrapper at her. "Please, everyone knew Anna spent all of junior year trying to get the courage to talk to that guy from the track team."
"Hey! I was waiting for the right moment," Rihanna defended with a laugh, throwing a pillow back at gen. "Besides, what about you and your history class obsession?"
We spent the next hour laughing, gossiping, and talking about our summer plans before the mood naturally shifted. With the music downstairs fading into a low hum, gen dimmed the bedroom lights, lit a couple of candles, and started telling a creepy local legend about the dense woods bordering MY backyard..
"...and the old neighborhood story says that if you go past the tree line after midnight, you're not walking back out," gen whispered, trying to sound as eerie as possible. “Oh, please, I’ve lived here for years now and I have YET to hear anything like that and plus this is my back yard, you’ve been here like…three times" I snorted, kicking my legs out. "Those woods are right behind my patio. The only thing living in there is animals from the woods and trees."
Maya’s eyes lit up with a mischievous spark. "Is that so? Well, since it's we practically have nothing else to do tonight, we need high stakes. Truth or Dare, Y/N?"
"Dare," I said without ANY hesitation, feeling a little too confident.
"I dare you to walk about fifty feet into the woods, find a pinecone, and bring it back to prove you actually did it. Right now," Maya challenged. Rihanna and gen immediately chimed in, egging me on.
"Easy money," I scoffed, grabbing my flashlight.
I stepped out the back door, leaving the warmth of the house behind. The cool night air hit my face as I crossed the lawn and pushed past the initial brush into the trees. The soft crunch of dry leaves echoed under my house slippers.
No to long into the walk my flashlight beam flickered over a tall oak tree.
“Maybe I should have backed out now that I think about it ANYTHING could be out here..I can just turn back and go now..hmm but I only been out here for a couple of seconds…fuck it.” I thought to myself.
Turning around I spotted a figure standing right infront of me. I paused, I was so scared but instead of panicking, I just stared. The figure was wearing a sleek, white ruffled shirt with pale skin and dark, sharp hair framing its face. It looked strikingly like a ghost but that couldn’t be right that’s not real. "Nice costume," I said, crossing my arms and smirking. "A bit late for Halloween, though…”
The I’m guessing “man” turned his head slowly. His eyes caught the faint moonlight, and when he parted his lips to speak, two sharp, unmistakable fangs glinted in the dark.
"You shouldn't be out here alone," he said, his voice smooth, soft, and echoing slightly through the quiet trees. "It's verrry dangerous after dark."
I looked at the fangs, then at the dramatic outfit, completely unbothered. "Right. Great prop teeth. Did gen pay you to wait out here and what..scare me? Because honestly, 10 out of 10 for effort, but I really just need a pinecone so I can get back to my party."
He then tilted his head, looking utterly baffled by my total lack of fear. He took a subtle step closer, hovering almost soundlessly over the forest floor, his expression dark and intense.
Unfazed, I bent down, grabbed a decent sized pinecone off the damp ground, and held it up triumphantly.
"Found it," I announced, turning back toward the glow of my house lights. I tossed a quick wave over my shoulder. "Good effort. And seriously cool outfit!"
Without waiting for a response,I turned on my heel and started walking back toward the glow of the patio. But before I could take more than three steps, a sudden, chill swept down my whole body, making any hair on my body stand up. The air around me felt heavy, freezing, and dead quiet like the entire forest had just held its breath.
I blinked, and suddenly, the man was standing directly in front of me, blocking my path.
My heart did a quick jump in my chest. He hadn't made a single sound. No footsteps, no leaves crunching he was just there, moving faster than anyone I'd ever seen.
His dark eyes flickered with a faint, dangerous golden light, and his jaw set tight. He looked a bit agitated now, his pale brow furrowing as he glared down at me.
"So you don't believe me..." he murmured, his voice dropping an octave, echoing strangely in the quiet air. "Let me prove it then."
(No one’s pov)
Meanwhile, upstairs in y/ns bedroom, Maya, Gen, and Anna were sitting in a tight circle, staring at the closed door and trying to listen past the muffled music still drifting up from downstairs.
"Okay, is it just me, or has it been way too long?" Gen asked, nervously tapping her nails against her knee. "She literally just had to go thirty feet out into the yard."
Anna looked up from her phone, crossing her arms over her hoodie. "Relax, Gen. It’s Y/N. She’s probably out there trying to find the most ridiculously massive pinecone just to flex on us."
"Or she's trying to figure out how to scare us when she gets back," Maya added, adjusting the strap of her tank top with a smirk. "I told her those woods were creepy, but you know how she is she hardly gets scared."
"I don't know, man," Gen muttered, glancing toward the window where the dark tree line was visible against the moonlight. "It gets pretty dark out there after midnight. What if a big ass bear got herr?"
"If a bear attacks her, I'm taking a video before I help," Anna joked,
“…”
“….what the fuck is yo issue.!”
tossing a throw pillow at Gen to snap her out of it.” Yall chill I’m just kidding-“
"Guys, quiet, Im really trying to see when she’s gonna come back." Maya whispered.
(Y/ns pov)
I raised an eyebrow, taking a half-step back, still trying to process how fast he'd closed the distance. "Okay, magic trick? Look, man, the sudden speed thing was actually pretty cool, but seriously, my friends are inside waiting-“
Before I could finish my sentence, he extended his hand. With a quick flick of his wrist, a gust of wind surged through the clearing, sending dead leaves swirling into a miniature tornado around us. The shadow behind him stretched unnaturally long, creeping up the trunks of the surrounding oak trees like ink spilling across paper.
He stepped closer, hovering an inch off the damp earth, his elongated fangs fully visible as he let out a low, vibrating hiss that shook the cold air between us.
I stared at his feet..this nigga was bare foot, then up at his glowing eyes, and finally at the dark shadows twisting around his coat.
"Whoa," I breathed, my eyes widening. "Okay, the wires or magnets or whatever you're using? Incredible. And the wind machine in the trees? Honestly, ten out of ten. Maya and Rihanna really pulled out all the stops for this graduation prank."
The man froze mid-hiss, his glowing eyes blinking in utter disbelief. The swirling wind abruptly died down, dropping a shower of dry leaves onto the ground between us. He slowly lowered himself back onto his feet, looking completely stunned by my reaction.
"Prank?" he repeated slowly, sounding entirely thrown off. "You think this is a... prank?"
"Duh," I grinned, tapping the side of my head. "I know a high-budget setup when I see one. But hey, tell the guys they got their money's worth! You totally almost had me for a second."
Without giving him a chance to recover from his confusion, I brushed past his shoulder, jogging the last few yards toward the back porch before he could try another optical illusion. “We will meet again y/n..” I heard but ignored ready to head back home and question the girls
"Y/N, we didn't hire anyone..." Maya repeated, her voice barely above a whisper as she looked over at Gen and Anna, who were both staring at me with wide, completely terrified eyes.
"Okay, very funny," I laughed, waving my hand dismissively as I reached for a chip. "You guys are good, seriously. The sleek white shirt and black dress pants, the fake fangs, the crazy fast speed he literally looked like he walked straight off a movie set. You can drop the act now."
"Y/N, we're not acting!," Gen said, her voice trembling as she sat up straight. "We've been sitting on this floor the entire time you were outside. None of us left the room, and none of us hired a stunt guy!"
Anna pulled out her phone, her thumb flying across the screen as her face went pale. "Look at my bank account! Look at our group chat! We literally came up with the pinecone dare thirty seconds before you walked out the door! How could we have set up a whole production in thirty seconds?!"
I looked from Anna's screen to Gen's panicked face, and finally to Maya, whose eyes were fixed on the window behind me. The laughter slowly died in my throat. My stomach dropped as a cold realization settled over me they were telling the truth.
There were no wires. There was no wind machine.
"Wait..." I stammered, my heart sank. "If you guys didn't send him..."
Before anyone could answer, a soft, deliberate knock rattled against the glass of my second-story bedroom window.
We all froze.
Slowly, I turned my head toward the glass. Standing outside on the narrow, dark ledge two stories above the ground was the man in the woods. The faint moonlight caught the silver gleam of his eyes and the sharp edge of his lingering smile as he gently tapped his knuckles against the pane once more.
WELLL this will be all for right now depending on how this post is treated I might make a part two!!! ALSO I AM TAKING REQUESTS IF ANYONE WANTS SOMETHING TO BE WROTE
