The new Michelin guide to California is coming out soon, & some great places got recognition that our Sempervirens117 retreat clients simply adore: like @mentoneca in Aptos & @diavolapizzeria in Geyserville. We just ❤️ having group gatherings there to discuss our outdoor learning modules and books by recommended authors like @sarahfrey and @priyaparker But there is something to be said for sharing simple meals we make ourselves using basic ingredients and ordinary cooking techniques. This polenta cake with a soft-boiled egg 🥚 isot Kurdish🌶 flakes and organic dill from a local farmers’ market is a perfect example. We always have several group meals each retreat that have participants gather ingredients and make the meals themselves using their teamwork talents & inborn ingenuity. It won’t ever compare with an exquisite plate designed from the brilliant culinary mind of a @davidkinch but it’s pretty satisfying, nonetheless.
