Being mad about videogames I guess...
Pokemon is the Madden and Fifa of Nintendo, there hasn't been any real innovation or actual FUN in the series for several games now, we just pretend they are. Pokemon fans are like Baseball fans at this point, we just root for childhood favorites out of habit no matter how bad they play. They keep giving us the same game with a new coat of paint to pretend its different and hide how tired the franchise is getting.
(sighs) gaddammit, you can't do this to me netflix, you just put like twelve of my favorite things in one video together. Yeah.... yeah okay, limp bizkit and dmc and you HAD to go for the grayscale dante and awesome artstyle.... just shut up and let me go get my tricorn hat and jolly roger ready like i wasn't already looking forward to this thing coming out. Also, someday, when we hit the point of late-stage capitalism where they rediscover Cable TV and combine streaming services so that my poverty-stricken ass isn't having to keep a list of which friends have what services to go visiting to watch tv at their houses for specific shows........ (sigh again) You have my interest if not my wallet, for i have not the funds to give, but dammit it looks good. if the show itself can be as good, eh we have hope.
Finally found some stuff I haven't seen for a decade or so and was afraid got lost while moving this last time. Used to have a massive collection of random figures all over my monitor top and some shelves that got swapped for others every time I dusted except the favorites.
guess i'm gonna have to find shelf space for em now and hope they dont become cat toys. the only thing that can fit on top monitors they make these days is the dust, no more jumbo size boxes.
also, in case anyone wonders, yes i still have gambit's staff and han's blaster, the cat was starting to get curious so i didn't drag them out of the bag the tiny bits and accessories live in for all the other figures in that box too. also also yes han and chewie are the 77 figures, and gambit is from 92 and has a little lever on his back because 90's gimmicky fightin action figure goodness.
Weird brain things...
My brain has done a weird thing. I discovered while reading that apparently it has decided on its own that "younger" or the usual clean-faced regular depictions of Nightcrawler sound like the 90's cartoon voice actor (but with a better accent), and the "Older"-looking aka bearded version sounds more like Docm77 of minecraft and youtube fame. No, I don't know why, but at least Doc is actually German and has a nice voice so I guess that works out? But... Weird brain things, yo, super weird.
stupid immortal anime voice actors... <_<
why do i COMPLETELY forget what a scrawny little sunshine-blond immortally-young-looking anime boy Crispin Freeman is until something utterly SLAPS ME IN THE FACE WITH IT, AND the fact that he's almost 10 years older than me but still looks like he’s about to go off to college for the first time makes me slightly angry. it still bewilders me how THAT voice comes out of THAT body as well every time i see his name in the credits for something and find out that yes, he is indeed usually whoever is the most badass in the game/anime/etc. and all this started because it was bugging me that a couple voices in horizon zero dawn sounded familiar as i was watching a playthrough of it, so i looked things up which i normally don’t do. (i am one of those people that dislike knowing which actor is behind a voice because sometimes it throws off the illusion of the character if i can place a real face to a voice. This is also one of the few bad things about having known so many VA’s from nearly 20 years of working and attending conventions.) I may complain a bit in some jest, but he is indeed an excellent voice actor, and thankfully one with enough range to not sound the same every time, he blends well into his characters. (he’s also one i’ve sadly never had the honor of meeting before i retired from doing shows yet actually wished to.) eh, enough rambling for now i suppose.
Student Loans suck....
OK, so either another debt collector pretending to be the "department of education" just bought my student loans (they're even using the seal, but are based in the wrong state) or something stinks in collectorland yet again.
Every six to ten months, they get resold, and the new company wants some ridiculous amount different from what the last one did, sometimes its thousands less, sometimes astronomically thousands more.
none of em are getting anything, i don't deal with scam artists and that's all those people are, people are always like "oh but it'll ruin your credit record" or some crap, and I'm just like, seriously? I went to the Art Institute, what makes you think I ever stood a chance at having GOOD credit after what they did to me, AND I was one of the ones who had their identity stolen the year they got hacked back in the day before people knew what to do about such things.
It took me FOUR YEARS just to be able to have a bank account again, SEVEN YEARS to square off some of the other mess they'd put me in. I don't keep credit cards for a reason and never have even before that, and it took me as a broke college kid a nightmare of time and effort to get rid of the crap those losers did.
so telling me to pay off scam artists who bought a debt owed to a scam artist school who had me signing papers and never told me what they were until suddenly i had something like 15 extra loans they knew I'd never be able to deal with just so it'll make my credit look good? yeah, nope.
I paid as much as I was able for years, until the family took my home after gram died and I had to let it default while moving and without income because all my sewing supplies were packed up in storage costing me money instead of making me money. Currently, I have the resources for cat food and TP and reasonable necessities, not for paying ridiculous amounts of money to scam artists every month who are just going to resell the thing to someone else who will start asking for the original amount or more as if I'd never paid anything on it to begin with.
Yes, I tried paying off one of the collectors and this is what happened, they are SCAM ARTISTS and can all go get stuffed.
Marvel Oreos and Superman Vanilla
ok, so, there is a kind of ice cream called Superman Vanilla in the northern midwest US that in the 90s was super popular with everyone but parents for one specific reason, it had so much food coloring in it that it dyed your insides blue for a week, everything and i mean EVERYTHING all the way through even your tongue and saliva would be stained blue-green from the sheer amount of food coloring in the ice cream for days.
the ice cream still exists today, but with a LOOOT less dye in it than it used to. I tell you that story to tell you this, myself and a friend bought those color-change marvel Oreos, and their kids got to experience the ancient superman vanilla effect for the first time in their tiny baby preteen lives, and it has been hilarious to witness their reactions.
the entire color-change thing is just moisture activated dry dye crystals/powder suspended in the filling that gets activated by your saliva, mostly protected from activating by the moisture in the air by the fats in the filling kinda like using sealing wax. the quantity of dye in them to achieve the effect is absolutely ridiculous though, and long lasting.
