Please tell me about your Sailor Moon OTP and all the wonderful things that make you love them so much! And congrats on 500 followers!

Hi hello and thank you for the ask!  My Sailor Moon OTP is Michiruka, a definite part of my gaywakening!  Michiru and Haruka, alias Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus, respectively.  For a fair part of my formative years I wanted to *be* Michiru... water is her element, she’s a musician, she’s so graceful and pretty and just *siiigghhhh*  (and she gets to date Haruka... heh heh)

This is a little spoilery, but in S3 they have a tragic death scene together, and it gets me sobbing like a baby every single time (even tho I know they get rezzed, since there are more seasons)

They are such fun characters, and I love the way their relationship is just so natural and not an exposition/explanation point.  In the American dubbed version, they made them cousins, and I recall as a child being *very* confused -- I sure did not act like that with my cousins, lol!  When I was able to watch a subtitled/properly translated version and I learned they were girlfriends, it made soooo much more sense!

Summary:  Haruka wins a race and claims her reward.

Notes:  Written as part of my 100 ways challenge and to celebrate Femslash February. This is both unbeta'd and unedited, because I'm trying to worry less about perfection and more about fun. My first time writing for this fandom/pairing since 2002 so I went somewhat AU, and no fandom knowledge is required to read this.

Idling the car in front of the drivers’ entrance, Michiru glanced sidelong at her girlfriend. It was easier if she dropped Haruka here where she could quickly dive inside, where she wouldn’t get beleaguered by rabid fans eager for an autograph. But that didn’t mean Michiru wasn’t sad about the lack of privacy to say goodbye properly. Not being very big on PDA meant that these curbside drop offs were done with a smile and a wave rather than the kiss and embrace she yearned for.

“Drive safely,” she murmured as Haruka climbed from the car.

Haruka grinned rakishly. “What fun would that be?”

Favourite character: Michiru Kaioh/Sailor Neptune because she’s so tough despite appearing fragile at first glance. My second favourite probably is Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury. I have a thing for water signs, it seems.Worst character: Uuuuh. Again, worse in what respect… In terms of character development, the manga characters are all great. In terms of character, everyone who kills their underlings off (so, most of the main enemies of an arc x’) ), and in terms of character design, poor Umino xDOTP: Michiruka (Michiru Kaioh/Neptune x Haruka Tenoh/Uranus)NOTP: Don’t really have one…Greatest emotional moment: I think to me, it’s The Bond of Destiny! The Distant Days of Uranus (ep. 106) from the (old) anime in which part of Uranus and Neptune’s past as humans is revealed (and in which Neptune rescues Uranus for the first time we learn of).Most excitable moment: I think my fave from the (old) anime is Neptune fiercely trying to save Uranus in the Marine Cathedral (ep. 110/Sailor Moon S, ep. 20: Death of Uranus and Neptune? Talismans Appear)Favourite series trope: Rei taunting Usagi xDSeries pet peeve: In the old anime: The unnecessary “Monster of the Day” that’s basically just a filler but doesn’t advance the story. In the first two seasons of the new anime, the fact that only Usagi and Mamoru get their personalities developed while the other Sailor Senshi pale in comparison. (That was improved in Season 3, though).Opinion on the writing: The manga is well-written and rather fast-paced imo, and I love how they remade Season 3 of the anime. The first two seasons of Crystal were … quite good, too, but they were lacking character development of the Sailor senshi that aren’t Sailor Moon imo. xD What I don’t like about the original anime is my pet peeve, but on the other hand, I love the emphasis on friendship the older anime has. There are a lot of scenes just showing the inner senshi learning together or going to some event together, and I really love these.Overall review of series: I watched Sailor Moon as a kid and it has always held a sentimental value for me. When Crystal appeared, I watched that too (the first three seasons) and took the opportunity to rewatch some episodes of the older anime. Perhaps I’m going to rewatch more sometime because I’m still really fond of it. To me, there are a lot of good memories attached to Sailor Moon. :)

Michiruka was my original OTP okay?? and I still love them??  Like in a community I belong to, my nickname is actually Michiruka.   A+ I will ship them for life (and they’re canon, so, EVEN BETTER), they are so fucking perfect and I will fite anyone who disagrees
