“Luna’s Birthday”: A Saluna One-shot
Hey, I know that you guys were probably expecting a new part of “L is For Luna” or “Lincoln's Concert Catastrophe”, but I have something even better for you guys today. Yesterday was my birthday and @guardianofreaks sent this lovely Saluna story to me and I know that you’re going to love it just as much as I did!

Getting back to the apartment after work Luna was wiped.
She didn't even bother to take off her waitress uniform she just kicked off her shoes and fell back on the couch.
Ehhh the family restaurant wasn't that bad paid the bills, free meals, and flexibility for whenever her band got a gig.
The band that reminded her, “Sammy!,” Luna called out, her girlfriend was usually there to greet her when she got off.
“Just a minute Lu,” Sam’s voice came from the direction of there tiny kitchen.
Oh no, Luna thought had Sam cooked something? She'd already eaten at work and hoped she hadn't put her girlfriend out.
Wrenching herself into a sitting position Luna was up in time to see Sam backing into the living room.
“I've got an early birthday present for you,” Sam said mischievously.
Luna’s face lit up, after her hectic shift she'd honestly forgotten tomorrow was her birthday.
Sam turned around carrying a big chocolate cupcake with a candle in it.
“Make a wish,” Sam said handing the plate to Luna.
Closing her eyes and blowing out the candles Luna opened her eyes and in her thick British accent and looking at Sam said, “Well if it didn't just fine true luv.”
The cheesy line made Sam snort, but she leaned in to give Luna a kiss anyway.
At the last second though Sam pushed the cupcake into Luna's face.
This just made Luna laugh and say, “Cheeky.”
Sam wiped some of the icing off Luna's face her finger and tasted it.
“Just one more thing,” Sam said stopping Luna from getting up and then heading to their bedroom.
Wiping more icing off her face and trying it herself Luna smiled and said, “You didn't to all this.”
Sam came back in with a larger but all slender package, “I know but I wanted you've been working so hard at the restaurant while I'm in school and I wanted to do something nice for you.”
Accepting the gift Luna didn't mind supporting Sam while she was in school; she supported her girlfriend's goals and vice versa.
“I wanted to give you this today before the big family party tomorrow,” Sam explained sounding a little nervous.
Giving it a tentative shake, Luna received an eye roll from Sam who said, “Just open it already!”
Seeing Sam squirm, Luna started to painstakingly remove each segment of tape before letting letting her off the hook and tearing into it.
Before opening it she'd felt a frame and thought it was going to be some gnarly piece of art but when she looked upon what it contained she was floored.
If she hadn't already been sitting down she would have needed to, smiling coyly Sam to asked, “Do you like it?”
Very delicately setting the frame on the couch next to her Luna leapt to her feet and crushed Sam in a hug before kissing her.
When Luna finally released her Sam took a breath and said, “Can I assume that's a yes?”
But Luna was already marveling at the frame again, inside it displayed a number of objects her McSwaegger tour shirt, the ticket stubs from her first concert, and new to her an original autographed original album.
She started to ask where on earth Sam had gotten the album but noticed a small fourth object.
“Dude that's the McSwagger pick I had be to you I wanted you to have it.” Luna said looking at Sam reluctantly.
Taking the frame and placing it on a predetermined spot on the wall, Sam looked at Luna and said, “How we say it's ours.”
Luna smiled to looking from the frame to Sam, “Ours,” she said, “I like the sound of that.

Just a small idea that popped in my head when Luna said that “she doesn’t think she wasn’t good enough for Sam”.
Seriously, even tho’ Luna has met and gotten praise from a Rock Legend, the fact that she doesn’t think she’s good enough for Sam is both cute and a great view on her self-confidence
Headcanon: Sam talked Luna into going to her first Mick Swagger concert.
Sam unintentionally helping Luna in finding out who she was by showing her the life of rock’n’roll is my jam now. Pun absolutely intended.
