The 3rd issue of the quarterly Marvel Super-Heroes Special was published with a Fall cover date and September 1990 pull date. In the Wasp segment, Kingsize was introduced, created by Dwight J Zimmerman and Amanda Conner. Distorter (Leon Stort) was introduced in the Hulk segment created by Steve Ditko and Hollis Bright. In the Blue Shield segment, Firebolt (Roxxon) was introduced, created by Len Kaminski and Greg Capullo. In the Captain America segment, it was revealed that Dominic Fortune was considered for the Super-Soldier formula but was rejected. The issue saw the deaths of Firebolt and Apalla.
