Chomp. This is what can happen when dogs finally pop in their kennels. It won’t stop me, but please let it stop YOU from surrendering, breeding, not spaying/neutering, not chipping, not training, not socializing. Dogs go kennel crazy when they don’t go out for weeks at a time. It’s just a matter of time before they pop. Please do your part in keeping them out of the shelter. That’s a third strike for that animal. I don’t see him being kept alive after this one. I forgive him. And I hope he forgives me. The shelter is no place for dogs long-term. They just can’t cope. And who could. Just so you know, not all volunteers deal with dogs that have bite histories. I accept the risk fully. I am not mad. Not upset. Not scared. I wish it did not happen. He was so friendly and so gorgeous, I admit I was selfishly disappointed when, thanks to the good folks at Animal Emergency Center at SW 74th and Western and found.org, we found his relieved family. 😢 The other day a woman came into the shelter… 18 months earlier her dog was stolen… She drove an hour after she received the call that her dog turned up in our shelter after biting someone. I can’t stress how important MICRO chipping is. How much easier it is to find your lost animals Even if you never think your pet will get out… You still should microchip just in case. Inexpensive and easy. Every animal that gets brought in is scanned at least twice before entering the kennels. Pets with chips and collar tags go home much much much faster… some never even get to the shelter because the person finding them brings them to a vet and you will get called from there. #collartagsandmicrochips #Repost @northcentralshelter with @get_repost ・・・ A microchip is the size of a grain of rice, and injected under the skin between the shoulder blades.
