Just some random thoughts about the social model of disability.
I have a condition (micrognathia) that is only a disability in that the world around me is not adapted to it. Literally, just a clinically small mouth. Needed surgery for it as a teen, but still super small. Because the world is not adapted to people with small mouths, I can’t get basic care at the dentist. Even though the only problem (at least here) is that my mouth is small. In no other way does that disable me at this point, but the inability to get care makes my oral health worse.
It is the structural problems that make it a disability.
