Well the season has started and pea seeds are coming up, only just. Welp, here it is. My first marriage of resin and wood. It took over a week from start to finish, I hit quite a few roadblocks, and realized I’m missing a lot of tools that would have made this project a lot easier, but I learned the following lessons: 1. Packing tape is a lot leakier than YouTube made it look and I’m glad I took the precaution of a rice-filled leakbox. 2. Sawing is harder than I remember. 3. Sanding a lumpy brick of wood and epoxy by hand is extremely messy, takes approximately one million hours, and requires slightly more upper body strength and stamina than I have. Ouch. 4. Micromesh pads are actual magic. If you swipe to the last two photos you can see the gloss finish that the surface has after gradual buffing with the micromesh and being given a quick once-over with the smooth polishing side of a nail buffer!
