Meet Gieysztoria, my favorite flatworm to culture <3

they are hermaphroditic and reproduce mostly through parthenogenesis, self-fertilized reproduction, making them very easy to grow families of!

They love to eat single celled creatures called ciliates, and anything else soft enough to be sucked into their mouth and swallowed whole!

I rotoscope animated the top right gif, all others are taken by my phone on my phase-contrast microscope. Meet the wormies on video here!

A ciliate got stuck in a broken pipette tip, but it escaped pretty quickly after I started filming

Astor but he is a microorganism (JJBA plush) because I wanted to combine two fandoms I love >:)))
