Well, this was sufficiently awkward || Elphaba & Hyde
Arriving at Granny's, Elphaba was quick to place her to-go order, wanting to be in and out as fast as possible. While the townspeople weren't all that terrible regarding her complexion, she had yet to warm up to the idea of interacting with any of the townsfolk outside of her roommates.
Not that the people of Storybrooke were an unpleasant lot, most were quite hospitable. But having been ostracized for so long did leave the emerald-skinned witch accustomed to solitude. It was still difficult for her to grasp the concept that the Trident family wanted her at their table during meals. That they wanted her to join them on family outings to the movies or the park. The idea of people wanting her company was about as foreign to her as as was the idea of socializing, something Ariel had suggested once she noticed that if she wasn't at the Agua Java waitressing, she was often holed up in her chamber upstairs.
Being advised it would be at least 15 minutes before her and Ariel's meals would be ready, she nodded and turned to look for an empty seat at the diner. Realizing the booths and tables were all occupied and she was guaranteed to have at least one person sitting adjacent to her regardless of which stool she chose at the counter, she pursed her lips. She should have brought a book to make herself look busy, she thought to herself. Noticing the former minister sitting next to one of the few empty seats, she decided he looked like the person least likely to initiate conversation.
