Changes and Updates

Hey all

So in discussing things with some of the members, most who have mentioned having lost the muse for their character(s), we are going to work on rebooting this game. However whether that means a total reboot of the original game concept or cleaning out our current timeline to make everything more streamlined still remains to be decided. 

We know a few members have some ideas, so feel free to bring up any ideas up with the admins (we are currently on skype so a group discussion can definitely work).Since it’s been a while since we’ve last spoken and had activity, we want to see who is still interested in the rpg. If we can have members reblog this onto their character(s) blogs to let us know you still want to be involved, we’d appreciate it.

Glinda murmured politely in response, relaxing slowly into the couch. Now that Elphie had mentioned it, she was right. Glinda never really talked about Fiyero’s death to anyone. The Wizard had told her when he found out, in a mockery of “Sorry dear” and “What a loss” and “You must be so distraught and betrayed”, but she was catching onto his lies and knew that it couldn’t be the whole truth. By that point she had stopped writing letters to Mommy and Popsicle, so it was just a matter of keeping her chin up and moving on. Neither of them had really talked about him to anyone except each other, and only now.

Gods, there was so much to say. But Glinda just swallowed firmly and tried again. “No, Elphie, really…” She nursed on her lip for a moment, trying to explain. “I’m sorry. You two were always so good together in school and could see through the Wizard and I… I said some mean things when he left for you, and…” Another swallow. “I’m sorry. I really am.”

"It's all right." Elphaba insisted, giving a tender, reassuring look as she spoke. "You wanted to know, and you have a right to know." Glinda had loved Fiyero, and it was only natural that she be curious as to his fate. She pursed her lips. She so wished she could say she'd managed to save him. But all her magic did was wipe his mind, causing her to lose the man she loved for good. Just like everyone else she held so dear. "If I could go back and fix things, I would."

Glinda’s lips pursed and she looked away. Just as embarrassed and just as guilty. So he was dead. But she knew looking at Elphie’s face that the Wizard was lying. Twisting truths yet again. She shook her head of golden spirals and forced a smile, looking the green one in the eye. “It’s okay. I just… I guess I just wanted to know.” Oh no, now they were both upset. And an upset Elphaba was practically criminal. “I’m sorry.”

She shook her head. "It's ok." she said, grateful she hadn't pried, unsure if she was ready to speak about Fiyero's fate. "It's not something I've talked to anyone about."

Glinda grinned from ear to ear. “The Ozdust!” She hadn’t been there in years. When she became a socialite there were so many different and more luxurious parties to go to, in elite ballrooms just for the upper-class and favourites of the Wizard. “Goodness, that takes me back… I remember going there with Fiyero and…”

She didn’t continue. Fiyero seemed so long ago. She would be lying if she didn’t admit that she was still bitter about he turned her away for Elphie at the last minute. It seemed so petty now, what with everything else on the line. The last thing the Wizard told her was that he was dead, and at Elphie’s hands. But even when he told her that she didn’t believe it. Not even when the Wizard was nothing but a god to her and the city would she believe Elphie would do such a thing to the man they both loved.

Glinda looked away, but managed the strength to try and ask. “Do you know whatever happened to him?”

Her warmer, more joking disposition soon dampened at the mention of Fiyero. She blinked, eyes fluttering before they turned down from Glinda to fixate on the green hands clasped on her lap over the Grimmerie. Guilt pinched at the bridge of her nose, causing a small wince. She never knew if Glinda had ever forgiven them for running away together. Nor did she know if she'd forgive her for his fate now.

Her jaw clenched at her query, nose crinkling in discomfort as she recalled the night she fully lost him. The gashes across his back, the bruises and cuts. The blood that had crusted from the abuse he'd suffered at the hands of the Wizard's men. She recalled how desperately she'd tried to save him, and how she found once he'd woken up she only failed yet another person she held so dear. Clearing her throat, blinking a little, she finally spoke.

"H-he's gone. I lost him." It was all she could really say without being pressed for more. What more could she say to explain his condition?

Glinda nibbled daintily on the inside of her pink lip. She was nearly convinced. If she hadn’t known Elphie’s history with the Animals then she would have totally let him carry on his mission and experiments. She shied away from her line of sight. “Right…”

A different subject was in order. Anything but talk of battles and Wizards. Looking back to the fireplace, the witch voiced her memory with a little smile. “Do you remember when we were still living in the dorms? We used to have nights just like this during school.” She snickered. “Not that you noticed anything more than the book under your nose…”

She let out a tick of a smile, amusement touching her features. "I do seem to recall you spending most evenings chattering about heading to the Ozdust." she replied. It was how most of their nights were spent. Elphaba studying to ensure she excelled, often helping Glinda on assignments, while Glinda busied herself with yanking Elphaba out of her shell.

She was hardly a social butterfly, unlike her former roommate. And since they'd started getting along, Ginda had made it her mission to get Elphaba to leave the confines of their room in favor of spending an evening dancing and gallivanting. While Elphaba tried her best to encourage Glinda to reach her potential and excel in their courses.

Glinda raised her eyebrows. “Really? You’re back in that dusty thing?” She didn’t mean it as an offence. She never did. It was just startling to see the green woman get so involved in magic again. Glinda hadn’t really thought of it. Her magic nowadays was kept to suburban chores and wardrobe duty. She didn’t really want to use it for anything bigger than that… “Well, that’s good… We have to do something…”

She nibbled on the pink of her lip. She didn’t want to even think about going back or doing something or getting in all this rubbish. Not again. It just scared her too much. “When do you think we’ll go back?”

"Yes, I'm back in this dusty, useful, thing." Elphaba replied, her tone  light. In the  years since they'd known each other, she'd learned that most of the time, there was hardly anything mean spirited in Glinda's words, though could most oftentimes be read that way by others. 

She gave a small shrug. "The sooner, the better, really." she said. "The longer we stay here, the easier it is for the Wizard to harm the Animals and convince those around him to let him do as he pleases with them." And she'd promised she'd return to help them. That she wouldn't let them down. Not like she had let others down in the past, she noted.

Glinda shook her head and curled her knees in tighter. She fixed a polite smile, and hated herself for having to fix one. “No,” answered the blonde. “But I’m not that hungry…” And it wasn’t just because of all the cupcakes and sweats she’d been eating during the day. Being around Elphie on her own was making her stomach flip and knot in all sorts of ways. Her abdomen suddenly felt like a Russian circus.

She heard the witch’s sigh and tilted her head. “… Are you okay?”

"A little tired." she admitted. thin, calloused fingers moving to pinch the bridge of her nose. "I've been over this book all day." she admitted, pulling out the grimmerie. "I was hoping to find some countercurse to the Wizard's spell. I thought perhaps when we returned I could undo that dreadful spell." she said.

Glinda shook her head, smiling at the sound of other people’s happiness. It was nice. If a little awkward. But compared to the excuses and missteps that their hosting couple was going through while Eric was female, this was a pleasant night. “Not even a peep,” she said. “Arion went to bed two hours earlier than usual, and Ariel’s left us dinner in the fridge.”

She scrunched her toes into the pillow as she curled up tighter in her comfortable ball. The fire reflecting off her skin and the quiet in the air seemed to glow off her skin and Elphie’s green hue. It was beginning to feel a lot like when they were still living in their school dormitories - nights together on their separate beds or at their desks, trying to either study ahead of the class or finish an essay at the last minute (depending on which witch you were), or talking together on the lounge in the common room.

But back then they were friends. And now, they were nearly strangers. Glinda felt disheartened as she smiled with effort up at Elphaba. “Dorothy’s in bed with a book about willows or frogs or something. Looks like it’s just you and me…!”

Well, at least now, Ariel could be satisfied to have her husband back. And there'd be less griping about missing the physical aspects of her marriage she enjoyed. Which was all the better for Elphaba, who cared little about divulging such private matters. Even if it was oftentimes a subject touched on by close girlfriends from what she understood after a few nights out with Ariel, Red, and a few of the other women in town.

"I'm not all that hungry." Elphaba said, rolling her shoulders slightly to loosen sore muscles that had knotted over the duration of the day. "Have you eaten?" Elphaba asked, a sigh lacing through her query that only gave weight to her words and only served to further betray her exhaustion.

Who: Glinda & Elphaba When: The night Eric turns back into a man Where: The living room of Eric & Ariel’s house What: Two witches are stuck in a room with emotional issues

There was a fire burning, and it was bright and warm and glowing. The blonde lay across the couch opposite and watched from safe distance. Entranced in this dance of light and shadows she smiled, her head against a plush and geometric-patterned pillow. The smell and taste of hot chocolate filled her, the mug just within arm’s distance on the wooden coffee table.

Her eyes nearly drifting shut and her head of gold beginning to nod of, she sat up a little straighter and exhaled sharply. She didn’t want to go to bed if she didn’t have to. Not with the sound of laughter coming from the end of the connecting hallway. Looking that way, she smiled at the sound of Ariel and Eric reuniting. Fingers running through her hair, she formed a ponytail just as another sound emerged - footsteps.

The same light, careful, yet easy steps that she heard every day during their studies.

Even without facing her, Glinda forced herself to smile at Elphaba. “This is your work, I take it?” she said, eyes still on the happy and very closed door.

Elphaba nodded as she came in, balancing the thick grimmerie under one arm as the other balance a mug of tea and her reading lenses. "Yes, and it was about time, too." she replied, slipping her glasses on as she sat in the couch adjacent, propping the heavy, worn book on her lap. "I swear if I had to hear another word about how much Ariel missed her husband's anatomy I would have turned her into a real fish just for some quiet." she muttered.

While she understood Ariel's frustrations, and her time with Glinda as her suitemate helped softened her to girl talk, Elphaba still had little patience for idle chatter. "I suppose they haven't left their room through most of the day?" she asked, catching the light playful laughter drifting from the master suite.

Jekyll stared for a moment to take in her reply. Then, a creeping and terrible blush formed on his cheeks like a summer rash. A gurgling, thoughtless sound left. “Uhhhhhhh….”

Oh CRAP, hold on!! laughed Hyde loudly. I HAVE to see you explain this!!

He coughed apologetically into his hand, trying to make up for the voice in his head and the complete mental blank he was having. Then, thinking up some kind of explanation, the ex-priest tried to explain contraception.

"It’s, uh… It’s a form of birth control for men. Think a small rubber balloon to fit over the penis that stops anything from… secreting."

Elphaba watched Dr. Hathaway, brow forming a slight knit in concern while his mind appeared to fizzle out momentarily before he cleared his throat in search of his voice. Lips formed a thin line.

They'd had their own forms of birth control back in Oz. Herbs, plants, even the use of citrus to a sponge among the physical techniques to prevent a child. All were targeted for a woman to use, never once had she heard of preventative care for men.

"Secrete wh....oh." she murmured. "So...it works as a sack for men?"

"But I’m so hot and sweatttyyyyy," whined the good witch, collapsing further onto her friend’s bed. She pouted, and her eyes looked over to the window outside where snow was falling heavily. "I’m too sick to go to work."

"You've been lounging by the fireplace all day. Of course you're going to be sweaty." Elphaba pointed out, resisting the urge to roll her eyes. There was a reason Glinda was never exactly the star pupil during their time at Shiz.
