Mid Victorian/gilded age gothic silver filigree floral brooch set against plate mirror background. Most likely French in origin. Marks on back indicate it had passed through 8 generations before I bought it!

Cine Costumier Extra: Little Women (2017) on PBS.

The most recent adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic will premiere on PBS this weekend. It was first aired on BBC last year in December. I’m a fan of both the book and the 1994 movie, so I have mixed feelings about this. The first look tells me this is “1840′s Girls Attend Coachella.”, but I’m willing to give it a try before I pass judgement on it. At least in the trailer every one except Jo has her hair up. I’m gonna take it as a good sign and hope for the best.
