I'm Blessed to have the #coolestfriendsonthePlanet, but some really abuse the privilege. Like Cheryl Goetz, the #midcoastfirebrigade #firechief, whom I'm honored to have as one of my #bestfriendsinlife. This woman makes me SO proud of just breathing the same air as she does I can't even tell you. Finally today, I saw some justice made for this outstanding woman who should be honored every single day of her life for at least 3 incarnations to come only to be fair to what she has already done on this one. We watched with tears of joy and a heart beaming with pride as she was honored tonight and got her much deserved #JeffersonAward from #KSBW. (By the way, she was in outstanding company as well, all other 5 recipients made me cry and renewed my hope on humanity) And, with Cheryl's award, we received the news that she has been chosen to go to the #NationalJeffersonAward, and we are going to #Washington in June to the ceremony there. It's been a true honor to be invited to accompany her both tonight and in June. And I'll be there glowing with pride once again. What I've witnessed this woman do for others, and most don't even know, and the bravery and absolute coolness with which she does it all will never cease to amaze me. She was not only TRULY heroic during the horrendous fires and floods but also e v e r y single day. Tonight, for example, on her way to receive her Jefferson award, all dressed up in her gorgeous formal dress and heels, hair and make up in place, she sees an accident as she's coming down the canyon and, even though others were on the scene and paramedics on the way, she of course stopped and rescued the guy, heels in the mud, until a helicopter came to air lift him. She was late to her own #awardceremony believe it or not, but that's exactly why she was so justly honored. I of course explained why she was late, held her spots and gave the pics of the ordeal (for her, just everyday life) to KSBW, so if you watch the news tomorrow on KSBW both at 6 am and 6 pm, you will see all that plus the awards ceremony from tonight and her national nomination. #beamingwithpride #lifeonthepurplefortelane (at National Steinbeck Center)
