String-painted images similar to Rorschach tests. Pamela used this for a “free paint Friday” activity for her middle school art students, so I decided to put one in my Sketchbook. I used four strings. After dipping each in a separate tempera paint (red, blue, yellow, and green) I removed excess paint then drooped them on the page. I then closed the book and held the pages flat with one hand and tugged the strings out from the pages: “voila—string art!” What do you see? I see birds in flight.
