This part is difficult and in a way I'm just channeling /brainstorming to figure it out because I truly don't know. But there may be some things happening to the disabled community, nuerodivergents, autistic people
Could range between things like, crimes against disabled people, uptake in disregard /disbelief of disabilities, increase in autistic people committing suic1de, an acknowledgement in the rates of suic1de in people with disabilities, the topic of "the right to die", the right to choose, assisted dying, vital healthcare being taken away from disabled people, disabled people being forced into the military, into situations they can't handle, there may also be a specific or multiple incidents where something goes down between literal law inforement, the police, the military, something that is done to somebody or people with a disability. More on having rights being taken away, general uptake in cruelty, abuse, there's a significant emphasis on autism though. More people could be suddenly diagnosed with autism, go into careers centred around autism, the whole "why is everyone suddenly autistic" bergade might come out again and stomp their feet + throw their tantrums again about issues they have not one single bit of information on. more groups with the intent to help autistic people with specific issues may form, more understanding in general too.
