Another new song! Shoegazey post rock with lots of distorted keyboards
writing a mathcore song be like: "if you play 4/4 for more than 2 measures, you're song is too palatable" It's not easy being cheesy, but I am making progress on the "Poor Traits" album. Programming drums intensively is pulling teeth for me especially for this song in particular "Screaming with the Existential Abstract", but I gotta do it so the guitar/bass performances don't feel as disjointed. Maybe I'll post lil' audio snippets. Who knows
Hey does anyone have any advice on programming drums in Logic Pro using anything other than the stock drum kit designer?
I hate the drummer plug-in and I have XLN Addictive Drums 2. I prefer to manually program everything and the stumbling block for me is midi note names. I can’t figure out how to either make them show up or add them at all. It’s frustrating.
Still gaining vocal confidence. The lyrics have no meaning; they are trash lyrics that I wrote randomly to fit the vocals. This one came out more musical-like than I wanted, so I added a crunchy lil guitar solo at the end and it made it more musical-like? so...
I was told that the lyrics kinda fit something from Over the Garden Wall, so that was cool
DrumPants Puts Industrial-Strength MIDI Control In Your Pants
I think that most of us, even those who know nothing about music production, know a friend that is a drummer - or at least acts like he or she is a drummer. The thing about drumming is that it is not portable in the same way a guitar or piano is portable. Drummer like to make up for this by constantly tapping or making beats (also called noodling) on any sort of percussive surface they can find. At first this is a cool discover, like being able to create a snare, kick, and hi-hat by only using the materials in front of you. After it stops being cool, it becomes annoying. That same friend is the guy who taps and beats on just about anything, espeicallyt when it is totally uncalled for. Lucky for him or her, another avid drummer has thought up the same idea, but in a way that doesn't require destroying household objects. It's called the drum pants, and it is exactly what you are thinking. You insert MIDI controlled sensors into your clothing so that you can actually drum as if you were linked to a real drum machine. The device is currently on kickstarter as a funded campaign. http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2013/12/09/drumpants-puts-industrial-strength-midi-control-in-your-pants/
THE DREAM IS ALIVE!
Finally fudged around enough on Audacity to have a full eight demos with all tracks but vocals. Prepare for sound spam!
Jade's doing a sick-ass bass-midi-piano solo and the female vocal (headcanon).
