Craving Comfort Sanji X Reader_|
...his eyes finally fluttered open a little, and he gazed up at you sleepily. “Mmm, my love, is that you?” He murmured softly. “It is, yes.” You replied just as soft, drawn in by his sweet voice.

There were so many wonderful things about being Sanji's lover, but your favourite thing was how you had the privilege to call upon him for simple sappy snuggles whenever you needed, no matter the time of day. If you needed him, he was there for you and vice versa, no matter how 'silly' anyone deemed the request. Nothing was too silly when it came to your love.
Now you didn't necessarily need him for anything radically important right now, but you found yourself unable to sleep like many other nights. You craved his presence and the comfort that he brought you so desperately, and 'just because' was as good a reason as any other to both of you. With tired eyes you pulled yourself out of bed in the dead of night, slowly shuffling off to search for your lover, just so you could crawl into his arms and find some comfort in his cuddles. You craved a warmer embrace than the one offered by your many blankets tonight. Nothing could ever compare to the way he held your body close to his.
This seemed to be turning into a common pattern; one where you always searched for him at ungodly hours of the night and you could never find him. He would always be in the last place you checked. You thought you had him on your first try this time though, checking the men’s quarters first and foremost considering it was nearly three in the morning. You were disappointed to find his bunk empty this time, so you went to the kitchen after: his next most likely spot. When you didn’t find him there either, you checked the aquarium bar, and huffed in frustration when he wasn’t there as well. He was nowhere to be found in any of the typical places, and it started to confuse you greatly, questioning if you were maybe too delirious from how little sleep you’ve gotten.
“Where the hell is he…” You mumbled, pacing around the grassy deck under the gentle flow of the moon. “Where else could he be…”
And then you saw it; up in the library window, a faint glow showing through partially drawn curtains.
“Ah… There you are, you sneaky blonde.”
You had told him a while back that the library was one of the best places to sleep because of how warm it was in there. It seems he had taken your advice when it came to treating his own restlessness. Who else would be up there at this hour? Brook was on watch duty and could be seen at the figurehead, so it obviously wasn’t him. You headed over there to go find him in his hiding place, but you were considering gently chastising him for not going to you first, and taking you with him. You were far more soothing and warm compared to the library.
You didn’t really notice, but as you made your way up there, a little pouty expression pulled at your lips. Now you weren’t truly upset, but you loved to playfully pout at Sanji just to tease him. He always played into your antics, and if he was awake, he’d surely do so without failure. The silliness was the most precious part of your relationship. When you actually got up to the library to start teasing him though, you discovered that he would be doing none of the cutesy routine he usually did once you saw the state the place was in.
It was impressive to say the least, most of the library being draped in blankets and sheets of all sorts with the curtains poorly drawn to only let in small amounts of moonlight. Many cushions had been moved and replaced around the center point of the couch where even more blankets were piled, a small tuft of blonde hair poking out from under the plush pastel fortress he had contained himself within. Dim oil lamps flickered all around, which were the main source of the light you saw from the outside. He truly made himself a castle of comfort within the peacefulness of the library.
“Such a cozy space… And you didn’t invite me. Hmph. I’m joining you whether you want me to or not, my sleeping beauty.” You huffed, tiptoeing over to where he was curled up.
You hoped he would forgive you for waking him, already imagining the soft, cute moans he would make when you woke him. He was so easy to predict, as when you peeled back the many layers of blankets to get to him, those cute little sounds of him waking up slipped out, clutching the last and final blanket tightly around himself. When you started to gently pull his arms away from his body to open him up to you, his eyes finally fluttered open a little, and he gazed up at you sleepily.
“Mmm, my love, is that you?” He murmured softly.
“It is, yes.” You replied just as soft, drawn in by his sweet voice.
With his arms open now, you crawled into the cocoon of blankets he had himself buried in and clung to him tightly, delighted when he closed his arms back down around you and encased you in his warmth. Both of you let slip some tired hums as your legs twined together, pulling the other blankets back over you in the plush haven. You placed a gentle kiss on his lips before resting your head on his chest with a soft sigh.
“What’s wrong, my love?” Sanji asked you sweetly, rubbing your lower back. “Are you restless tonight?”
“Mmm…” You nodded, then lifted your head with a slight pout. “I couldn’t sleep, and found myself overwhelmed by the desire to be in your arms. Now though, I’m a bit jealous you set yourself up to be so cozy and didn’t invite me.”
“Wha… Ah shit. I fell asleep after the setup, didn’t I?” He sighed, tightening his grip on you.
“Setup?”
“Mmhm. I wanted a cozy space for us to escape and have a good night’s rest for once but I just… I seem to have fallen asleep while testing it out.” He admitted with a sheepish chuckle.
“Oh Sanji…” You sighed. “No wonder. It’s so warm and cozy here, I don’t fault you for that at all.”
“I did a good job then, right?”
“You did a very good job hun.” You chuckled. “Perfect, cozy, and welcoming, just like you.”
A deep sigh escaped you, and you started tracing circles on his chest with your fingertip. Being with him relaxed you with immense speed, putting your soul at ease as all your muscles relaxed completely. You were a mere rag doll next to him with your upper half leaned into him, but he held you tightly against him, always eager to be your support and keep you safe.
“Do you feel better here, my love?” He asked you softly.
“Mmhm, much better. You put me at ease, my prince. This is all I need tonight.” You hummed into his chest.
“Heh, it’s so cute how you come to me with the softest and simplest of requests.” Sanji murmured, simply adoring you.
“You come to me with requests just as simple and sweet. Because of that, I'm comfortable enough to do so myself.” You hummed.
“Mmm, I think you’re also just a lover, like me.” He commented, gently dragging his fingers up and down your spine.
“What gave me away~?”
“You know what you’re guilty of.” He chuckled, kissing you over and over again. “I’ve never fallen so hard for someone that I become so soft. You weaken me like no other, my love.”
“I’m not sorry.” You hummed. “It’s so easy to be soft with you… I am a sucker for this level of comfort, and you’re just irresistible.”
“I could say the same about you.” Sanji murmured, muzzling his nose into your neck where he peppered kisses down to your collar bone. “So irresistible that I set this up for the two of us. I’m just a fool who fell asleep.”
“You were always a fool, my love. You don’t have to wait to enjoy this little moment any longer either. Thank you for this creation. I feel special knowing you were thinking of me while you worked on it.” You huffed.
“I’m always thinking of you, my love.” He mused, his hands wandering over your body as his breaths slowed. “This was all because I couldn’t stop thinking of cuddling you in plush warmth and low light, caressing your soft skin while I kiss you over and over again in the moonlight."
“Is that so, hun?” You hummed, feeling your cheeks grow hot.
“I speak only truths, mon amour.”
His sultry tone lingered in your ears, putting you on cloud nine with how sweetly he spoke to you. No matter how many times you heard him tell you about how much he loved you it never got old, you never got used to it, and you always became a flustered fool around him. Even his innocent moments and actions made your heart flutter with joy. Every moment with him was precious.
“Jeez… You are impossible to resist.” You huffed.
“Such is the curse of being with someone so irresistible~” He teased, his fingers dancing along your hips and sides.
“Heheh, Sanjiiii!”
You squirmed a little from his touch, hiding your face in his chest as you wiggled around in your tomb of tickles. He was so gentle yet methodical, bringing out your cutest giggles while you weakly protested. You adored his touch in all forms, so your efforts to wiggle away were hardly even efforts at all. The tingles were pleasant, and the goosebumps he left in his ware were only a sign of that; that and the smile he kept catching glimpses of whenever you shook your head at him. Your adoration was clear.
“Wow, you really can’t resist me~” He cooed.
“Heh, so? I’m hopelessly in love with you for a reason.” You said through softening giggles.
“And what is it about me that makes you so hopelessly in love?” He questioned playfully, returning to hugging you tightly.
“Oh I don’t know… Just your presence, your touch, your hands…” You pause, finding one of his to lace your fingers with. “Those cute curly brows of yours too, and the way you can effortlessly make me smile with authenticity. There are plenty of reasons to be hopelessly in love with you.”
“Thank you, my love~” He hummed with tiny hearts pulsing in his pupils. “You always know just what to say to make me smile just as bright as you.”
“Another part of you that I love.”
Your compliments had him blushing and laughing now, and he peppered your face in kisses to cover up how flustered you made him. Of course you could tell though. He was your lover, and you could always tell.
“Heheh, I love you too, Sanji dearest.” You said before capturing his lips with yours once more.
This kiss was deep, and calmed your souls completely with how tenderly you treated each other. You sunk into each other’s warmth even when you parted, gazing into each other’s tired eyes as they gently fluttered closed.
“Finally tired again, hun?” He asked you softly, gently gliding his thumb over your cheek.
“Mmhm.” You nodded, resting your head against his chest again. “See, all I need is you, my prince.”
“I love that you need me…” He hummed, kissing the top of your head. “... And I need you just the same.”
Even as the two of you gradually started to doze off again, you still managed a few more soft spoken words.
“See… Perfect for each other…”
He responded in kind with an even tighter hold around you and a soft hum. Sleep had never come so easy to both of you.
