Segawatober Day 12 - Sea

Caught up let's go. Woasu spoilers, can't write about the sea as a swimmer and not make it like powerful.

Midorino only remembers some of the stories her father told her of Earth. Of rich cultures and wars unlike the ones that hit this planet. Of adventures and stories and more nations than even he could count. But one story that always stuck with her was the story of the sea. Calpucca’s sea is tame, minor tides and little to no storms that hit the mainland. Earth’s seas? They are powerful, civilization wrecking forces. Her father told her stories of waves taller than the castle and as destructive as Megalopolis, storms as loud as spaceships and water as dark as the night sky. Seasons of rains pouring down on the people with little escape and winds and power. And yet still, after all settles, the sea was still beautiful. Greens and blues and wildlife. Delicious food and sights. The ability to travel. Life. To her father, the sea was Earth, and he always looked faintly dissatisfied with the sea here. If she had the chance, Midorino would want to see the seas of Earth, to see what her father always talked about. Perhaps she’d feel at home there, instead of the false sense of home she has where she is. Perhaps she’d feel free.

She’ll never know, but it can’t hurt to imagine.
