levi whos just so done with everything after a long day. wants nothing more than to just curl up in his chair and sleep for five days straight, with no one disturbing him ever again - but he knows he can't have that, so he goes to get the closest thing he can.

knocks quietly on erwins door, so late at night that no one could possibly see him sneaking there in the dark halls. there's a quiet hum from inside, erwins a light sleeper and he'd recognise those quiet steps outside his door anywhere. lifts his head a little when the door creaks open, merely lifts his blanket off his bare torso as a quiet invitation. the door closes silently behind levi, boots left neatly next to the door, slipping in next to the big frame on the mattress that's too small for even one of them.

erwin turns onto his back to let levi take his rightful place, letting him bury his face in the crook of his neck, muscular arms wrapping around his smaller body. calloused fingers sliding underneath the thin fabric of the white button up and running along the spine carefully as if it might break if he put too much pressure on it. "relax." the command is quiet but firm, enough to make the man listen to it. tension slowly leaving the body, making levi melt down into the scarred up body beneath him. "there you go. you're okay now."

its the first night in weeks where levi actually gets some decent sleep.

“Farlan used to smoke a lot,” he blurted. His voice wavered, husky with fatigue. “I always told him not to smoke inside, but he’d do it anyway and hide his ashtray in the most obvious of places. He might’ve gotten away with it if he didn’t cling onto that thing like a holy symbol, but he was stupidly sentimental, and it belonged to his mom.”

In his mind’s eye, he saw a blue ribbon woven through dark hair, a secret only he got to know. He adjusted in his chair, and its creaking cut through the room. “Anyway…” he faltered. “Thanks for quitting cigars when I asked you to.”

Erwin’s words of reply were strung together with drowsiness, so quiet they were almost a whisper. “I believe I’d do anything if it was you asking me to.”
