I did a fun Love or Leave with Celeb Crushes on my Stories yesterday and today, and I just think it was a really great reminder that beauty is 100% in the eye of the beholder. What one person is attracted to, could be another person’s number one turn off. I also think it was really interesting to me how much of it was about personality. Obviously we don’t know celebrities personally (at least I don’t-maybe you’re cooler than I am), but whether it’s public persona or characters they’ve played, I know that my opinion of them as a person plays super heavily into if I find them attractive! I really wanted to share a photo for the New Year showing my body and talking about how, despite what advertising might be telling you right now, you don’t need to change your body for the New Year. But to be completely honest, I’m still a bit hesitant to share any photos in minimal clothing since Instagram started pushing my posts out to more men. If you don’t follow along on my stories, you may not know that recently I had a huge influx of followers from my reels. Which is amazing, and for those of you that are here for the right reasons, I’m so glad to have you. But unfortunately, about 75% of these followers have been men who do nothing but harass me in my DMs. I want to just say “fuck off” and not let their actions get to me. I should be able to wear whatever I want and post whatever I want without it constantly being sexualized. But the reality is, it wears you down after a time. I’m tired of lewd messages and spending hours a day blocking people. That being said, I am going to rise above. I believe in what I’m doing here. I want to share my body in all its glory because it gives me confidence and it helps give others confidence. Mostly I’m just pissed at Instagram. When I’m spending hours a day removing a certain type of follower, at some point this fancy algorithm has to realize that it shouldn’t be forcing my posts out to that demographic.
