Assuming James Somerton did “forget” to cite dozens upon dozens of sources, he should have at least known that he had a pattern of forgetting things and then used a free plagiarism checker on his scripts. Easily solvable issue. Even if this excuse was true (and let’s be clear, it isn’t), it still wouldn’t really work; it would display a completely unprecedented lack of self-awareness and care for his work at best
