- all the Cranes have prosthetic arms/hands that were the result of an accident, amputation, or simply were born without one. (Scuttlebutt keeps changing the story on how he lost his arm.)

- Little Ditcher is the youngest at 19, Big Mickey is the oldest at 46.

- Jack and Scuttlebutt smoke, Big Mickey smokes sometimes, Mighty Mo smoked once, and Little Ditcher hasn't smoked at all nor does he want to.

- Little Ditcher is good friends with Ten Cents and Warrior, especially after the events of Up River.

- Big Mickey and Mighty Mo used to arm wrestle with their prosthetic arms.
