Michael is somone who despite bieng very prestige and leadership on the outside
On the inside however he has zero love towards himself because of his monsterous existence, aka his uncontrollable strength that breaks things wherever he walks or touches. Years of fear and conspiration especially what was done to him by Lucifer (ordered to do it) he just sees himself as low and undeserving of such love despite deep down yearning for such thing which was why he became so unhealthy attached that lucifer who first showed him love.
He dosent even trust himself and believes hell fuck it all up again over and over because of his curse, while hes enjoying his time with the MC at the same time no in the sence he was likley thinking " my powers coming back oh heavens if im not careful im going to break them..." He was very careful and moving slow to avoid this, which shows deep down he was actually bieng quite considerate of there well bieng from themselves. Hes scared of anyone going near him thats why he tends to be alone most of the time, always thinking its gonna happen again and he self deprecates himself because its always this way.
Hes careful, he tries to be. Slow and steady while hesitant. Thats why its important to tell him your ok, itll warm his heart to hear that alot trust me.

This is why when i learned this i added part of my whb au for niiri that despite bieng a doll demon that can break yes, couldn't be broken by Michael because despite what he thought of her, bieng a demon. His love what he had for her was so pure that she couldn't be broken, this was also due to the fact niiri loved him back with the same purity as an angel thus any cracks of her bisque skin could never form when it came to him. But at times Michael was still scared he could hurt her accidentally and that's why she always reassures him in however she can whatever that can click on him that could reassure him 100%

Though when surrounded by other angels or angel related things in general there far to holy for her that she ends up burning and blistering so she has to wear protection properties like myyrh ink around her with sigils to avoid this problem

Niiri was head over heels with him instantly it is because of her chaotic rambunctious nature it didn't click on her immediately that she was truly in love until emotional intimacy moments without mischief
As for Michael it took him the longest because he was beyond hesitant and had no trust towards her immediately his a seraph after all he must be wary. But when he realized he was indeed falling in love he was in complete denial even bottling up everything he can to avoid slipping into corruption even as far as thinking she had Bewitched him of sorts but he would realize that was never the case. Niiri never had bad intentions towards Michael, she was playful and zaney but never ment harm. She was a demon who believed herself to be an angel and didnt align her ideals with hell so naturally she wanted to proove to michael so was loyal to him. Not only that but she was a doll demon whos existance was to be an emotional healer of ones past trauma which is what completely made him view niiri all in a different light, it wasnt just because she was a traitor of hell for allying with heaven and get back at them in revenge. No, it was because niiri was niiri, herself. Out of any demons hes encountered she treated him with so much love and respect for the tyrantical seraph, no matter how awful he was she always smiled and remained by his side till he calmed down, even so much as to vent to her as he slowly gained her trust. She plays with him when Michael feels that loss he misses so much when he used to bond with lucifer, she may not be him but she was certainly becoming somone her latched onto just as much as shes latched onto him, both are so obsessed with eachother there like glue you cant seperate them aka there swans 🦢
She makes him laugh, she shares the same delusional mental health as him though differently, there both selfish, she makes effort in understanding him despite who he is, she isnt afraid of him. She makes him feel that nostalgia he once lost that has filled his heart with something livley he hadnt felt in years,shes saved him countless of times especially the auction that would completey burst his heart in her heroic action that it was the pivetal moment of the two officially accepting there love.
most importantly of all...shes the only one who has ever accepted his love and choose him to the point she stays with him, even if one dies at war the other will follow that's how loyal they are. Through niiris love he learned to love the same way as she would to him even in trying to understand her in order to help her over come her dangerous path to angelhood hed rather her he her own version of an angel rather than the corruptions of heaven doing something unspeakable to her like the fate of Nina.
And so both lovers are just trying to survive and live there life with freedom as they can on earth in the church where they live with two exorcists for saftey reasons.

She gets away with everything when it comes to Michael before hed get annoyed and maybe threaten her way back before they got together but the swan bastard never did end up doing the things hed said hed do, no instead hed always try to hold down his smile whenever he remembers her attempts at a lighthearted mockery to him because she admired him and his angelic higherarchy, something no demon would ever consider him.
Shell play pranks that could make him loose his shit or one that would challenge him to fight a laughter that hes never felt in eons of years. Shes a harlequin she knows what can make others crack a smile.

When niiri's rage or madness takes a toll on her, Michael will hold her close in his arms to lay somewhere where its empty and quite. There he will close his eyes, caress her hair and sing her a lullaby one that Lucifer would sing to him during childhood. It was his most favorite song from his brother thus he vowed to learn it one day to sing to him one day.
An angels song is the most holiest thing to hear, there soothing voice is one that would make any malady go away.
Niiri would feel a heavy weight lifted everytime he sang to her and shed smile to him everytime, that precious smile always made him feel good about himself.
Niiri would then begin learning this lullaby to sing to him, most notablly everytime he remembers fond memories of Lucifer that would bring him to tears. She would held him in her arms returning the same gesture as hes done to her. Mimicking his angelic notes to ease him down.
From depressing memories to his most happiest of all ones. Tears of joy would begin streaming down, and his woes would soon fade into temporary.
After his deafet by satan in his bloodshed card hed seek niiri for comfort after bieng stabbed with a million knifes to satans comment about lucifer.
Calming him down was tough that day, so temporary putting him in her dollhouse domain would be a good option to distract him a bit.
In his old imaginary childhood room he felt safe, then began the song he cherished so much. Bieng held in her embrace as the little spoon, it felt like old times in his life with his brother.
But as he opens his eyes looking up, it was his beloved doll. He smiled and nuzzled his face on her chest. Sighing in a hopeless romantic way.
Although lucifer was gone in his life and would never hear his voice. This next chapter in his life wasnt so bad after all despite the taboo.
They are both going through the same brotherly crisis that only they both can understand one another. They understand eachothers pain and yearning the emotions they try to hide from the past.
That is why its so important and special for them to always be in each others arms and sing to each other like this. It gives them a moment to forget there old memories that all sadness goes away.
But alas, theyll always find a way to creep up back in there fragile minds.
Michael has also sang her different songs some that he made up by himself that dont involve the ones lucifer sang to him although he does sing those to her sometimes.
He even created his own romantic ballade one that he asked the help of thiago to come up with the key notes to sing. He only sings this song privately to her in her dollhouse.
When niiri points out that it was lucifer who taught him how to sing so beautiful, he will not shut up about it and will talk about it from beginning to end on how his brother inspired him to sing. Niiri will cross her legs and put her hands against her face and listen in awe about his hyperfixiation.
Niiri was already inspired by his lullaby now she wanted to learn from the best and learn how to sing like a true angel, Michael was more than happy to do so.
There favorite thing to do when they sing is Christmas carols whenever its December the whole church will always echo in there holiday spirit ask thiago or merywen theyll tell you yes.

The Christmas event incident is a huge moment for both niiri and Michael. Niiri along with the exorcists had there adrenaline like never before and bolted there asses to tartaros in order to save Michael.
Realizing what was going to happen niiri would get drunk by smashing some of the vending machines that had booze to cope which would make her wreckless during the rescue operation.
with the help of thiago and merywen they manage to distract the entire auction including mammon and MC thus giving niiri a chance to get Michael out of there.
With her rage in full blown sight she used it to her advantage to break the chains off of him and carry him away back home while the other two stayed for a bit longer to give them a chance to reach there magic circle that would take them back to there church.
This event would officially make Michael have full blown trust for niiri as he would finally realize she truly was dedicated to her dreams and love for him.
For niiri, she finally felt like a true gaurdian angel to somone that actually took the time to understand her despite his ideals because of his upbringing in heavens laws. She saved somone that showed her emotions of how they felt after bieng saved from them.
Something leviathan had trouble expressing that niiri always mistook it as she never did enough as his sister. Leviathan loved her in his own way but because of what happend to him in his childhood he couldnt. whatever love he had for niiri slowly began ashing away and only irritation began to show. Thus niiri always lived in guilt for failing him for letting her delusions get the better of her.
She might have failed leviathan but that familial love will never fade for her no matter how much she tries to hide that in modern times through her happy joy deamnor or by taking out all her bottled up anger out on her own kind through death.
Despite how traumatic the Christmas event was for the two. his smile, his kiss, tears of joy. That was more than enough for niiri to sigh of relief that he was ok.
From that day foward she never wanted to fail on somone she loved ever again.
To lose somone he loves for the second time is Michaels greatest fear.
for niiri to become an angel, it should be a dream come true for him no? No more reprocessions. They can safley be together without having to hide it anymore all should be good yes?.
Nope, Michael very well knows what would truly happen to her.
If she ate the artificial seed of the fruit of knowledge its all over. She will slowly loose control of herself and become a monster in agony that Michael would never wish she would go through ever.
But niiris self hatred of herself is far to high. This is why he always reassures her how beautiful she truly is despite bieng a demon.
Even though Michael has his own low self esteem issues. Niiris is more dire in the sense to finally love herself more, shes heading in a path that will be irreversible.
Look what happend to poor nina.
In the past, Michael saw her as a filthy demon he wouldn't have hesitated for her to devour that seed. But then an unexpected fate happend by the will of god and he fell for her.
Now the thought of any other angel especially his brothers managed to get there hands on her they will forcfully make her devour it.
And the part that drives him insane is if she will just automatically agree to it without fighting.
He learned to love her for who she is and realized to love her for her was the most purest and truthful of love.
Thinking about her becoming a mindless zombie in the most hedious form makes him so sorrowful he cries.
This is why niiri must understand how truly corrupt the angels are, some like samael are good but some are to blinded by rage of gods absence that all they care about is killing the kinds that took there beloved god away from them.
She knows some of them are pure evil because of what leviathan went through. Once she realizes the true damage of what heavens law has caused these angels to go mad for there beliefs and love for god. The leangths they are willing to go through.
She will finally understand both Michaels and leviathans concerns for her.
And that's when niiri will finally come into terms with herself and realize this path she wanted so much might not be worth it after all.
Is it worth it to see Michael constantly be paranoid for her?
No, and thus she dosent take the fruit.
She will become her own gaurdian angel. Something Michael has already considered her as for a while now.
