So Into You (Sneak Peek)

“Kiss me.” She whispers, her eyes peering at him through her lashes. He doesn’t hesitate to move in, placing his lips over hers gently. He can feel her sigh against his mouth, chasing his lips when he moves away. He watches as her face contorts with frustration and he kisses her again, even softer this time.

“Quite like kissing you.” His voice is below a whisper and she doesn’t think he meant to say it aloud. Her stomach swarms at his confession and she pulls her bottom lip into her mouth with her teeth to fight a smile.

“Won’t last long.” She sighs, slotting her lips against his once more. He licks into her mouth, swirling his tongue over hers, and huffs into her.

“What do you mean, pet?” His brows furrow and she’s chasing after him again, pressing a hand to his chest when he comes back to her.

“Have to forget about it tomorrow.” She sighs against his mouth, jaw hanging slack when he grabs at her ass again.

“And why’s that?” His teeth bite at her chin as he pulls her against him, eating up every whimper that falls from her sweet mouth. A particularly loud moan of his name has his eyes rolling back to his head, and his ego inflating. Praise from her was the only thing he ever cared about, it was all he ever thought about, and all his actions were done to please her. He loved her, way more than he thinks she loves him and he’s okay with that. He has no other option but to be.

“Because we’re just friends.” She breathes behind a moan and Harry doesn’t believe her for a second.

Friends don’t resist each other the way these two have been. There would be no reason to if they were truly just friends. She wouldn’t be melting into his touch, whimpering his name, tracing his tattoos when she thought he didn’t notice. He always noticed. He noticed the way she’d visibly relax when he hugged her, how her eyes averted his gaze when he complimented her. It was why he allowed her to steal his every breath, and consume his every thought. She was into him, and even though she fought it as hard as she could, she wasn’t fooling him.

“Best friends.” He ruts his hips into her, watching her eyes roll to the back of her head, and he kisses her cheek gently.

So I know love won't skate on my still beating heart

I'm at that point in writing where I'm too old for love poems again

But I love to be loved

I want to make it easy to know how I feel

I don't know how to be in love without shaking

I am less a wall and more willow

A very small willow

I shake when the wind turns

I was born in the fall

The world supposedly died

I worked hard to love like I do

Because its worth the smile you give

The laughter in your heart

The willow thrives in fall

Because you have tended and tended

Let's bloom together,

An orchard of feelings

this is a not so little drabble (because i know no self control) for my love @cutiepielukehemm because I love her so and i’m so soft for ashton fluff. hope you enjoy love x.

Today had been hell. Starting with the cramps that woke me out of my sleep at four in the morning, followed by the wave of nausea that had me sprinting towards the bathroom. As I doubled over the toilet hurling absolutely nothing into it, I hated my life and every aspect about it. My period was never easy. Every symptom imaginable happened to me, with no exception. The bloating, the fatigue, the nausea. All of it. There wasn’t a goddamned thing that I didn’t experience. But the cramping was above all, the worst. And today was no exception. I silently crawled back into bed after taking a warm shower to relieve my sore muscles, and downing a couple of pain pills. I’d noticed the heating pad plugged into the wall, warm and waiting for me, as I got under the covers. As I settled, Ashton’s warm arm slings around my torso, and he places a soft kiss to the side of my neck.

When I woke again it was like I had to start over completely. The nausea was back ten fold, the pain meds had worn off completely, and I felt as if I had lost the capability of moving my body all together. As I willed my body to stand, I cringed at the sensation of rushing between my legs, praying that the pad I was wearing could do its job for once. Nothing about this was okay, and although I knew he was trying to help, I shushed a rambling Ashton behind me. It wasn’t his fault, but I was just too tired to answer any of his incessant questions right now. I padded into the bathroom uncomfortably to start the shower and clean up. I groan at the empty bottle of pain medication on the counter, wondering if this could get any worse. The empty bottle meant I would have to leave the house and I was in no state of mind to do so. As the water pelted against my back I allowed myself to cry. Crying felt like the only thing I could do to release some of the frustration and pain I was feeling. I rubbed my wet hands over my face, feeling utterly disgusting and mostly just downright tired. But I knew if I fell asleep I’d wake up to the symptoms again, and again, and again so there was no point.

Ashton was gone by the time I reached downstairs. I sighed dramatically, turning on the kettle to make some tea before braving the outside world. My hair was in a bun and leggings adorned my legs, along with one of Ash’s jumpers. I couldn’t find it in me to do any better than this and besides, I was only going to the store. I sat of the couch with my heating pad, occasionally sipping my tea when I felt it easy enough to unclench my jaw from all the pain I was enduring. Not having meds is possibly the worst thing I could’ve set myself up for, and I was mentally kicking myself for it. I didn’t know when the pain would subside long enough for me to muster some energy to make it to the car, but I knew if I didn’t go now I would never find relief. But just as soon as I was going to get up, I could hear the front door opening. Ashton rounded the corner, a weary smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. His hands were filled with bags, contents spilling over the top.

I stood to my feet, my eyes welling with grateful tears as I rushed to help him with the bags. “No, no. Go sit, I’m gonna take care of you.” He insisted. Ashton placed the bags on the ground hurriedly and ushered me back to my seat on the couch. He reached for the throw blanket and tucked me in, placing a soft kiss to my lips that seemed to make every pain go away. He began to empty the contents of the bag, revealing all of the things he bought. There were chocolates, various types of supplies and pain medications. I reached out for the pills when he offered them to me, and watched in awe as he scurried to the kitchen to get me a glass of water. He cuddled up next to me when he returned, pulling the blanket over his legs and dumping snacks for me to enjoy in my lap.

“Thank you, Ashton. I’m sorry for snapping earlier. I love you.” I whispered into his neck during our second movie. He hummed in response, tilting his chin down so his lips could find mine. “I’d do anything for you, my love.” He murmured against my lips, his warm hand rubbing firm circles on my stomach. His lips pressed to my own and I couldn’t help but to moan into his mouth. His hand reaches up to cup around my neck, holding my face to him. “I love you, gorgeous.” He hums and in the moment, though I really felt gross, Ashton had made me feel gorgeous.

The gears spun noiselessly beneath the polished glass of the glowing clock face, the hour and minute arms still as the arm marking the seconds glided gracefully, menacingly, around its circumference. The world was awash in blurred colour, the slick from the plinking rain reflecting a distorted other-world back from the ground; and in the distance, the hollow whistle of a train cut through the silent dawn. Half automaton, half man, Zuko held a metal palm to his lover's cheek where tears mingled with rain, and Aang wept gently into his touch as he pressed his lips to the skin of his human hand.

Apparently so! I was just floored by the fact that I have wips sitting in my writing folder! @thetpot, I ask you, is writer's amnesia normal? Because I remember writing these things, but somehow forgot they existed until I actually looked? O.O

Okay, so here's what I got:

Spoken Word: A modern AU where Zuko discovers Aang at a Spoken Word event because Katara loves them, and because Sokka is a giant sound tech nerd. Aang is a spoken word artist, and Zuko is a little more intrigued than he expected to be.

Seasons: Meant to be a follow-up four chapter thing to October Glad. I have a liittle bit of Fall written. It's Halloween again, years down the line, and Aang is thinking how much he hates slasher films, but he's willing to put up with watching one to spend time with friends. Zuko notices he's tense about the whole thing, but Aang is all smiles and platitudes. Then... ghostly things occur!

No Roots: This is an ongoing piece that I reeeeally hope I finish. It's so fun. I have a little bit of the following chapter written. Essentially, No Roots is (another) a fic based in Canada about Aang and Toph travelling across Canada to visit all the tea shops the country has to offer so Aang can write about them on a blog. Naturally, Aang meets Zuko at The Jasmine Dragon, and well, adventures begin.

Hello!!! Okay, so I just answered the jewel and the light bulb in a previous answer, so if you're okay with it, I'm going to answer the two I haven't yet. :3

🧑 favorite character to write?

You know? I haven't written a ton of fanfiction in my life, BUT! I have written some for Death Note, BBC Sherlock, Kingdom Hearts II and now for Atla. I've had fav characters to write in each case:

Aang (I LOVE HIM SO MUCH OMG)

Sokka (Because I can try to be funny)

Sherlock (I mean, I'm sure I was terrible at it, but it was so fun to try to capture all his eccentricities in writing)

L (Hi, I love eccentric characters)

Axel (because he's a wonderfully smug bastard, and I love him)

Okay, so for some reason I never participate in the WIP tags, man. Mostly because I never have a WIP sitting anywhere. If I'm working on something, I'm rather focused about it. I tend to work on something for the purpose of publishing it very soon.

Uh... oh wow. I just went into my folders and it's like... oh look. There are multiple wips... just sitting there. I'll be damned.

They are ALL Zukaang xD Anyway, have this one. A modern AU where Zuko discovers Aang at a Spoken Word event because Katara loves them, and because Sokka is a giant sound tech nerd.

Spoken Word

The room applauded politely as a young man in the back rose to his feet from a table against the far wall next to the stage. At first Zuko couldn’t really make him out in the shadows of the room. He had to squint to follow the dark silhouette outlined against the red lights until he stepped onto the stage with a shy smile.

He thanked the host and stepped up to the mic. He wore a brown bomber jacket featuring red strips that travelled down from his elbows to the ends of the sleeves. It hung open over a loose fitting plain yellow tee. He wore a press cap that cast deep shadows over his eyes. Despite this, his features were unapologetically expressive, arranging themselves in a warm smile out to the floor.

“Hey, thanks for having me here tonight.” His voice was gentle, smooth and sure of itself. He had the confidence of a practiced performer, but he carried himself with grace and ease. His shoulders were relaxed as he set down a couple pieces of paper on the available stand. “I’m Aang, and I’m here to perform a bit of spoken word. This is a bit of a personal piece, but I hope it’ll leave you with something.”

Maybe it was the unearthly quiet that descended over the room, maybe it was the low lights, or maybe it was just the effects of the Old Fashioned Zuko was sipping, but time seemed to slow as he watched Aang smile out at the crowd before taking a sip of water and setting the glass down on the chair provided for him. He took a deep breath as the recording of a gentle rhythm on an acoustic guitar began to play over the speakers and stepped up closer to the mic.

It was a mild December day as snowflakes pirouetted soundlessly to cover the ground in a sparkling white blanket. Azula stood with her shoulders hunched in a light winter coat, her hands shoved deep into her pockets for warmth. The peaceful quiet of the day felt at odds with the way Azula’s mind whirled as she eyed the familiar wooden stairs leading to her old home. She shivered, but it wasn’t the cold that inspired it.

The last time she’d been here was a long time ago, and as the memory surfaced, she could feel the way her lips pulled into a frown. She remembered her father pulling up in his black BMW, and Azula had climbed in without so much as a goodbye to her uncle or her brother.

But when he meets Aang, there are truths Zuko is forced to face after years of denying them. Nothing is more terrifying than the ordeal of being known.
