Mike Dearborn emerged in the early '90s, producing tracks balancing raw drum programming with hypnotic basslines and classic house swing, music designed for the dancefloor. His work carries the imprint of Chicago house: functional, stripped-down and repetitive.
Dearborn helped define a harder strain of house that pushed back against slicker, Euro-leaning trends of the era.
