I photographed The Contortionist at Gramercy Theatre in Manhattan on April 15, 2016. I started the night with a quick solo shoot with singer, Mike Lessard, for Sennheiser. Mike immediately put his new mic to excellent use as the show was their first headline show in NYC & sold out.
The experimental metal band, originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, formed in 2007. Lessard joined the band the summer of 2013. Their influences include Meshuggah, The Dear Hunter, Rush & Deftones. Currently The Contortionist is on the final North American tour with Entheos & Sleep Makes Waves supporting their record “Language”, released in 2014.
