Cut That Out: Collage in Contemporary Design / Available at www.draw-down.com / Collage—a term coined by Picasso and Braque at the beginning of the twentieth century—is undergoing a vibrant resurgence, and it's not hard to see why. Destructive yet sustainable, digital and lo-fi, thriving on mass media and a sense of nostalgia—the catchphrases for collage are as contemporary as the bands that are using it on their record sleeves. New Yorker art critic Peter Schjeldahl calls it “The most consequential visual-art form of the twentieth century.” Today, designers combine traditional techniques and methods with digital technology to encompass assemblage, photomontage, mixed-media installation, digital manipulation, and even tapestry and video to create dazzling work for personal projects, clients, and commercial campaigns alike. With fresh and diverse work copiously illustrated throughout, from fifty leading contemporary graphic designers from fifteen different countries (including #Hort #MikePerry #StefanSagmeister #BráulioAmado #JoelEvey #IngeJacobsen #PaulSahre #Yokoland and many others), Cut That Out is a rich seam of inspiration to be mined by students, graphic designers, and art aficionados who wish to explore the creative possibilities of collage in their work, showing how artists take advantage of the freedom inherent in collage to combine various media and methods in the search for something entirely unexpected, original, and wildly new. In brief Q&As, the designers describe their individual techniques and processes, sources of inspiration, and thoughts on the medium. #graphicdesign #typography #collage

CHIPOTLE: LABREA AND MELROSE
by Mike Perry
New York artist Mike Perry believes in "the transformative power of making things" and there are few creative tasks he won't take on—whether as artist, animator, poet, or designer. He says his painting, drawing, and sculpture are all made "to conjure that feeling of soul-soaring you have when you stare into distant galaxies on a dark night, when you go on long journeys into the imagination, when you laugh and can’t stop laughing." Perry's mural work includes an extensive wraparound wall for Facebook's New York office, and a 1,080 foot fence for Brooklyn's Pacific Park for which Perry enlisted the help of a collective of 9 other artists. This 2013 wall for the Chipotle restaurant at Melrose and La Brea demonstrates the work he describes as "love notes to the abstract, unknowable future that is all possibility in the present." @mikeperrystudio

Darren Till “Nonstop Calling” BKFC—Mike Perry Fight in Discussion
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) founder Dave Feldman has revealed that former UFC standout Darren Till has been “nonstop calling” in an attempt to finalize a fight with Mike Perry after BKFC 82. Feldman confirmed negotiations are underway, suggesting that the Perry vs. Till matchup could soon be added to BKFC’s slate.
Till’s Persistent Pursuit
Despite previous criticism of bare-knuckle boxing, Darren Till’s current tone is notably different. Feldman says the calls have been relentless: Till is pushing to land a bout in BKFC, and the promotion is receptive. While nothing is finalized, the desire—at least from Till’s side—is clear. At the same time, Feldman affirmed that Perry’s upcoming title defense against Jeremy Stephens at BKFC 82 will proceed as planned, meaning any Perry-Till fight would likely come afterward or be slotted into a future event.
Till has publicly discussed a multi-million dollar offer for a fight with Perry that collapsed over contract issues. Historically, the two fighters have exchanged challenges and accusations of dodging each other—so this latest movement represents perhaps another shot at settling the rivalry.
Where Perry vs. Stephens Fits In
The current marquee event is BKFC 82, set for October 4, 2025, in Newark, New Jersey, headlined by Perry defending his “King of Violence” title against Jeremy Stephens. Feldman has expressed confidence in the Perry vs. Stephens fight, calling it one of the biggest in promotional history.
That fight will likely remain untouched by negotiations with Till. It provides a set stage for Perry before any match with Till is booked. It also means that, even if the Till fight happens, fans might have to wait until after BKFC 82.
Why the Till Match Has Traction
Star Value & Rivalry: Till vs. Perry has history behind it—accusations, challenges, and fan interest. The tension fuels marketability.
Cross-Brand Appeal: Till brings a UFC pedigree and a following that could draw crossover interest.
Momentum Building: With BKFC expanding, adding fights with fighters from different backgrounds strengthens the card depth.
Perry’s Position: As BKFC’s marquee name, Perry defending his reputation might align with a high-profile showdown.
Obstacles & Considerations
Timing: The booking must not interfere with Perry’s confirmation or performance in BKFC 82.
Contract Clashes: Past attempts at Perry-Till deals fell through over terms. Handling pay, rules, and promotion details must get resolved.
Risk vs. Reward: BKFC will weigh the revenues and viewership benefit against the risk of booking a fight that might cancel or clash with other plans.
Fit in Card: Positioning the fight—main event, co-main, or future show—will matter for exposure and promotional balance.
This moment could be pivotal: if Till’s calls and pressure land him the fight, BKFC could unlock a compelling narrative and draw. But it’s still early. The drama will play out behind closed doors before it hits the ring.

Mike Perry versus Jake Paul: A Powered Battle in the Ring
With thousands of spectators crammed into the arena for what seemed to be a memorable boxing night, the energy was high and the suspense was obvious. Mike Perry, a boxer renowned for his raw aggression and willingness to risk everything in the ring, was scheduled to square off against fighter Jake Paul, a man who performs well under pressure. Everyone was on the edge of their seats for this titanic battle, which was more than simply a brawl. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lThkwd5pays&pp=ygUXamFrZSBwYXVsIHZzIG1pa2UgcGVycnk Cleveland, Ohio native Jake Paul has grown to be one of the most talked-about people in the boxing community. His meteoric rise from online star to professional boxer has been characterized by unwavering commitment and a string of outstanding triumphs. Paul is a divisive figure due to his charm and bluster, but his skill and perseverance are undeniable. As he entered the ring, prepared to support his words with action, he exuded confidence and made good on his promise of a knockout. Conversely, Mike Perry is a distinct type of fighter. Perry, dubbed the "King of Violence," exudes a warrior's mentality. He is a fighter first and foremost; conflict is his life. His strategy is simple: he is there to fight and is prepared to absorb as much damage as he inflicts. Perry made it obvious right away that he was prepared for a severe altercation when he threatened to stop the fight in the first round if Paul tried to go toe-to-toe with him.
Before the match started, each fighter showcased their unique fighting techniques. Paul, the most skilled of the two, held Perry at a distance with his reach and technique. In keeping with his reputation, Perry lunged forward, trying to deliver strong strikes. With each punch, the audience let out a yell, their enthusiasm building to a crescendo as the competitors traded powerful blows. Paul showed his boxing prowess in the opening round. He took precise aim at Perry's torso, clearly hurting him. Perry invited Paul to take shots at his head by keeping his hands low, as was his custom. But this tactic turned out to be dangerous. Paul's methodical strategy paid off as he delivered a string of solid hits that led to a knockdown that had the audience cheering. Perry did not back down in the face of the knockdown. He persisted in moving ahead, displaying his tenacity and fighting spirit in full. But it was becoming more and more clear that Paul had superior technique and strategic awareness. He set the pace of the fight, keeping Perry at a distance and avoiding needless danger with a well-placed jab. Paul was obviously following his game plan exactly, and his confidence was growing with every second that went by. During the fight, Perry's weakness—his lack of defense—became increasingly apparent. With his hands frequently too low to shield himself from Paul's unrelenting attack, he took a great deal of punishment. Paul took advantage of every opportunity, throwing strikes with strength and accuracy. Perry's wild aggression stood in stark contrast to Paul's methodical approach, and it soon became apparent that Perry's chances of turning the tide were fading. Ultimately, Jake Paul's supremacy was apparent. His ability to adjust and take advantage of Perry's flaws demonstrated his development as a fighter. Paul silenced many of his detractors with his performance, which was a credit to his hard work and perseverance. Perry showed great bravery and tenacity, but in the end, Paul's cunning and tactics won out. This duel was a collision of ideologies more than it was a struggle of strength. Perry's raw, unrestrained aggression was a stark contrast to Paul's calculated, strategic approach. The result demonstrated the value of technique and strategy in boxing by demonstrating that an opponent who is disciplined and well-prepared can defeat even the most formidable fighter. The night was an exciting show for the spectators, full of drama and intrigue. Jake Paul triumphed, solidifying his position as a rising star in the boxing community. Even though he lost, Mike Perry was respected for his unwavering determination and desire to take on any obstacle. These are the kinds of nights that become legends in the boxing world. The fight between Mike Perry and Jake Paul will live on in memory as evidence of the sport's timeless appeal, where passion, talent, and willpower come together to produce life-changing experiences.
