-Jesse and Danny had both offered to come with him. But he needs to do this on his own. Because his dad's reaction isn't going to be good. Not bad, per say. But definitely not happy.

Meg and Ruby had apparently been placing bets on something like like this because all they did was pass money when Jesse told him. Demons, man. Stiles is honestly a little curious about what he can do to phase them.

And to be honest, Stiles hasn't had a chance to talk with Danny to find out how the talk with his parents went yet.

But this, this should be fun. Yeah. Lots and lots of fun. ...It's probably a good thing he can't exactly be grounded anymore.

When dad walks in the kitchen, his eyebrows jump up in pleased surprise at the soup. Predictably, the celery is frowned at like a criminal. That's okay. Stiles will make sure he eats it anyway.-

Sooooooo how was work? Anything exciting? Did Derek scare small children?

-Leaning against the doorway, Peter stares at Catori as she sleeps. Leah explained the early nap time by letting him know she'd been fitful and restless all last night. Peter doesn't reply, simply watching his daughter breathe.

Last night Danny had hacked into everything on Stephanie he could find. And while they are now the owners of her bank account, credit card, and medical info...nothing really useful has revealed itself. Jesse took he and Allison to her apartment in New York. That at least showed signs of something. A struggle. So maybe Stephanie was a victim herself, forced to con Chris to prevent the death of someone she cares about. Peter's still going to kill her for this.

You should lay down with her. I'll wake you in an hour. Two at most.

Peter moves to the bed and bends down, brushing Cat's hair away from her face.-

I will find your father, Kitkat. And I will bring him home. Just a little while longer, sweetie.

-Kissing her forehead, Peter turns and leaves her to sleep.-

I'll sleep when they're dead and my husband is back. Until then, I ask that you protect my daughter. You're the only one I trust not to have other priorities above these children.

-Peter...

Whatever she has to say is cut off by Peter's phone vibrating in his pocket. The caller id lets him know it's their security company. Odd.

Mr Hale-Argent?-

Yes.

-This is Amelia at Beacon Security. A panic alarm has just been activated at your residence. We've been instructed to call all the responsible parties before notifying the police. May I have your abort code, please?

Peter's already walking toward the door, hissing at Allison where she's apparently just finished feeding Evan.-

Who's code was it?

-Sir, I need your abort code before I can give you any further information.-

Breakfast Club. Whose code was it?!

-Chris Hale-Argent's. Sir, would you like me to dispatch police to the residence?-

No. Thank you.

-Peter hangs up, barely waiting on Allison to shut the car door before he's speeding home. The door is shut but unlocked when they get there. Which is probably for the best because Peter doesn't have the patience for keys and was fully prepared to break his own door down. Peter can hear sirens headed in their direction and he swears to god if that's not Leah having called Derek and the sheriff, then he's adding the security company to his hit list. And then...-

-And then, Chris is just there. On the floor and covered in blood.-

Christopher!

-He's not moving. He's not moving. He should be trying to sit himself up, saying I'm fine despite the blood soaking his chest but he's not. He's not conscious at all. Peter crashes down to his knees beside him and it's only once his own hands are covered in Chris' blood that he realizes he can't hear Chris' heartbeat.-

No.

-This isn't possible. It's not...he can't...-

No. Nonononononono.

-His chanting denial grows gruffer. Someone's screaming. Peter thinks it's Allison until it shifts into a howl and some inane part of his brain realizes oh, it's me.-
