Can people please not treat Mario x Luigi as if it was any other ship, like Bowser x Peach, or Bowser x Luigi.
Mario x Luigi is WAY different than those ships, its incest. They are brothers. Atleast the other ships the parties are not related.
MarioCEST as is in the name is incest. And while it maybe "Theyre just fictional" to you, to others they're more than that. I know that sounds stupid and I know Im gonna get heat for this, or be told to stfu, stop being rude, whatever all that jazz but I feel like I need to speak up.
That post (if ya know ya know) caught me off guard, what caught me more off guard was people defending and normalizing this ship.
ladies, gents, all in between, incest should never be normalized. EVER.
Now about the post itself
Its awareness, people are allowed to make people aware so others can come to their own conclusion, no it was not harassment, please dont use that word so lightly. (from what Ive seen so far noone is even harassing the person that was called out fyi)
if you didnt want that stuff out there, then you should've just kept it in the drafts in my opinion. Even private spaces arent that private, nothing is private on the internet.
I would also like to say the whole "Just block and move on" feels so dismissive to those who are actually concerned by this stuff, or put off. Are we not allowed to feel that way because theyre "fictional characters"?
Sure people will say we are allowed to feel that but lets be real here, from what ive been seeing nobody wants to hear it, hear the people who have other feelings that doesnt meet theirs. Some people may have been traumatized by this stuff and whether its fictional or not it can still have an impact in some sort of way. Hell this whole thing put me on edge.
And tbh its disheartening to see how many people are defending normalizing stuff like incest and then invalidating those who speak up against it like bruh, you can be loud af about defending it but we cant be loud af to be against it? Idk. Just seems a bit one sided to me, yeah Ill be sure to block and move on but that doesnt mean I cant be vocal about it.

Sorry, Im just trying to process everything. They were what inspired me to draw for fanfics so yeah this kinda impacted me too. Maybe Im being to much or whatever but just blocking and moving isnt always the answer, sometimes people just need to vent. and I say do so, be respectful about it then you can really move on.
Sorry for the length of this but this was needed. Mario and Luigi are important to me. Their dynamic as brothers is everything. So no theyre not just fictional characters nor is their dymanic. Mariocest just insults them as characters, brothers, and their dynamic. It also gives artists like me a bad look cause believe it or not, most like to have the brothers showing affection in a sibling kind of way, but cant because some fear that itll be contorted into disgusting incest bs.
Screw anyone who tries to normalize this ship or defends it. And yeah, many people dont like that in the mario fandom or any fandom actually.
Just saying.
quick note: idc if it was from a side acc i cant unsee that shit and now no matter what Ill see that even if its platonic or whatever you claim to make so yeah, it makes no different. Youre art is forever seen differently now.
