Milenda: Working too early

Today was a work day. Trying to be creative at 8 in the morning is not easy. Our ideas seemed to come in slow spurts. Luckily, if one of us seemed to be dying, usually someone else had an inspiration. One unexpected benefit which occurred to me as I thought back over the morning was this - being so tired made me not overtry. It can be easy for me to work so hard to be creative or brilliant that I miss it completely. Working while my body was trying to wake up, I went with what was simple and straight forward. I also noticed our group relying on compositional tools like changing levels and cannons. So I guess the benefit to 8AM choreography sessions is that you sometimes get out of your own way. At least...I hope so. Stay tuned for performance reactions on Thursday. My whole theory might be destroyed.
