Ophelia had heard of slave traders before, that was the reason why it had been so hard for her to negotiate an alliance with the Magi people, but she had believed that the practice was long gone. Then again, she was no longer in her land, was she?
Entheas told hold her if she crossed the desert, she would find what she needed to take back her kingdom. This was definitely not what she was looking for. Was he testing her somehow? She never knew how the Sage’s mind worked.
Slowly, she hefted up the spear, it’s magic radiating from it. She had no idea how to wield the magic or even fight well with the weapon, but she hoped that it would scare the band of thugs away.
“K-Keep away! I am Ophelia Atherlight, and I will end you!” She sounded bold, but the rest of her body betrayed her as the spear’s bangles jingled with her trembling. The thugs simply laughed.
