Lost Honour of Katharina Blum is a great book, btw, if you're interested in media spin and how it fucks you up, as the Capitol does with the victors. Except slightly less dangerous, and much more contemporary. Well, somewhat more contemporary - it's from the seventies.

10. The Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz. (much funnier than the Symphonie Fantastique was in senior high when a classmate, in an exam asking to analyze the main theme, claimed that it was foretelling the 2nd world war what with the wavy harmony movements detailing the submarine war and the high F representing the Führer... oh come on, if you're eighteen and German, that's pretty hilarious.)

7. Sleeping in on the weekend without my dog bugging me to get up.
