Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag [ten] friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them.
I think I've done this before, but what the hell:
1. Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell 2. Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling 3. Faust I by Goethe 4. Everything ever written by Heinrich von Kleist 5. Mammoth by John Varley 6. Redshirts by John Scalzi 7. The Cap: The Price of a Life by Roman Frister 8. Sword of Shadows series by J.V. Jones 9. The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum by Heinrich Böll 10. Landscapes of Memory by Ruth Klüger
Lost Honour of Katharina Blum is a great book, btw, if you're interested in media spin and how it fucks you up, as the Capitol does with the victors. Except slightly less dangerous, and much more contemporary. Well, somewhat more contemporary - it's from the seventies.
