There's no internet at my house atm so I'm at the library. Figured why not get a library card. The woman who made my account had a Ukrainian accent and I told her that my favourite band was there not too long ago. She asked which band, I said Hollywood Undead. Apparently her niece went to see them and she saw them a few years ago. She and I are now friends.
These are the images from the Forum Library mini brief. I feel that over all this brief was a success with my final piece working well in the surrounding literary environment. While everybody approached the topic from different angles producing wildly different boards I feel that there is a cohesion created in the regulated size of the boards helping to form our work into a collection.
Millennium library mini project. For this project I was asked to design something a wooden board that was the average size of a paperback book. I began by looking at the pages of a book itself and how by rising them up you could change the meaning. I then began looking at original print processes working with stamps to create pattern or text. As my project is based around a book (The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern) I looked at a quote at the end of the book about needing to show the importance of telling and listening to stories.
I then combined that with a figure that I had been working on to create my final piece. While this was a time consuming project (due to having to individually stamp each letter) I feel that the end result was fairly effective and eye-catching.
