1500-1599 Recap Part 19:

I really tried to build back the relationship between John and Simon but by the time John was an adult their relationship was pretty far in the red. I figured it was time to get John out of the home so he could have his own family. 

So John and Millicent married though Millicent was not happy about it she was content with marrying John being her fate. They immediately started trying for a child but not long after the wedding, the two began to argue and fight all the time. They were in the red when I came back to their household the first time.

1500-1599 Recap Part 11:

With Simon’s birthday there were no more toddlers in the home which meant that the kids could all play together outside and Thomas could take time for himself to relax. Though he mostly daydreamed about his crush, Isabel. 

John met Millicent for the first time and it was love at first sight, unfortunately it was not at all mutual and while Millicent was initially flattered by the boy’s affection, eventually it got to the point where she couldn’t take a walk through the park without being begged to be the boy’s bride. She started avoiding John as she was deeply uncomfortable around him which was a shame because she did enjoy spending time with Larissa.

Year 1523 Part 1:

True to what he had said, immediately following John’s 18th his wedding was to take place. 

While they tried to look on the bright side of things it was clear from the moment they arrived that the only people happy about the union was John, Mr.Charm, and Millicent’s younger brother Gerald who didn’t have much to say either way. 

The vows were exchanged and while the couple separated, Simon and Isabel took the opportunity to catch up with Larissa.

Millicent hated the marriage though whether it was because John’s arrogance, or the feelings that he was bad news or the fact that she preferred women was of no matter to the familial ties being strengthened by it. She wasn’t the happiest bride but she was hopeful that it wouldn’t be too much of an issue considering she caught the way John looked at Isabel. Perhaps it was too soon to hope that John would find other things to occupy his time aside from her once they produced an heir to the family.

Year 1516 Part 1:

The beginning of the new year brought with it new love. John was smitten with the young Charm girl who had recently reached her teens, unfortunately for him it was very much not mutual. Though Millicent did find the younger boy’s immediate proposal kind of flattering even if she had no intentions on marriage anytime soon. 

John had quite the opposite mindset and boldly declared to his brother that he was going to marry Millicent if it was the last thing he did. Thomas realized the girl had zero interest in his brother and decided that the best course of action was to keep John from the girl in case he kept trying to bother the poor Charm girl. 

But thinking of marriage made Thomas think of Isabel, it had been a while since they had played together but he could remember her creative spirit.
