I'm in the middle between a 2.5 and 3 star rating. I liked the plot, it kept me interested and the short chapters made me stay engaged and ready for the next one. I also liked the building of the characters, especially Andrew, I feel like this was really good ... (spoilers ahead)

... I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

At times, I felt Nina's persona and her actual self didn't add up but not in the way that she was supposed to not add up (because she was faking it of course) but just generally? I don't know maybe it was just me.

Also, the writing. I appreciate that this is a thriller so you want the essential "thrill" factor. McFadden was giving that and then she had to ruin it by spelling it out. The end of every chapter would be "I feel like I should get out" or "This feels like a bad idea" or even just questions. I completely understand airing the character thoughts but every chapter ending?? It just put me off.

Despite all this, I did have a bit of fun reading this and it's not a BAD book in my opinion, just perhaps not something I'd probably read again.
