So, literally just now found out about DiCaprio doing A Crowded Room.
Kind of flipping my shit because we've literally been waiting on them to make it a movie since CJ and them read the book in late October of 2006. It was one of their fixations/"special interests" for a while, even - they've read it like three times, and read that one script version a good two or three times.
I haven't personally read it, though I've gleaned some bits from CJ and Zinnia. Long story short, we do generally trust DiCaprio to be able to do the role decently, problematic as Billy and them were. [We also just found out via Wikipedia that they died on December 12th last year, which I imagine has something to do with why they can make the movie suddenly after like a decade of production issues.]
So yeah, we're interested to see what DiCaprio does with it. I can't think of anyone better to try it. And even if it's shit, at least people will SEE it because he's doing it, and discussion will arise from it afterwards. And I feel like hopefully we can trust DiCaprio to not be all mustache-twirling-evil-Hyde about it, because Inception and Shutter Island, among other reasons.
Also I'm probably gonna start reading The Minds of Billy Milligan for what I think will collectively be our fourth time. CJ and them remember it mostly-fondly because of how much it helped them in an extremely trying time, but Billy and them definitely had their problematic aspects, too. It'll be interesting to reread it now that we've learned so much more since the last time.
Uh.. Yeah, guess that's it about that.
