I love when trans people enter the public eye for non-trans things. Like trans-related success is of course also amazing, but there’s something special about us just…existing in the mainstream.

Take Amy Schneider, for example. She’s won 30 consecutive days on Jeopardy (as of 1/11/22). She’s also trans. Yes, she’s set records and examples for trans people, but she also holds the female regular season record for earnings and streak length—cis women included. Out of every contestant to compete in regular season Jeopardy history, she has the 4th highest winning streak and monetary total. She has won over a million dollars.

Yes, she’s a trans icon, but she’s also setting the bar for cis contestants. She’s an all time champion, a force to be reckoned with, and an inspiration for anyone who wants to be a trivia genius.

Anyway, I love seeing trans people out in the world. Let’s keep doing that.
