And yes, of course the Canon weak-ass bitch creates a catastrophe simply through his weakness. I know, I know, he “didn’t specialize in homicide cases,” but for a detective, nay, even as a person, Shuuichi sucks.

Yeah, I’ll say this much- I don’t think he was ever directly doing things to Ouma to hurt him, whether it’s framing him or.. those other things, but dear lord is he kind of a shit. It doesn’t help that this whole corruption of detectives situation parallels the real world and a certain time period a little too well. That’s how serious it is, and.. likely why Kokichi Ouma is pursuing him the way he is (or part of it anyways). Who knows what trouble it’s caused overall.

Okay then. He solves a single high profile case, and manages to bypass all known institutions and become an Ultimate, while simultaneously somehow not knowing about the various benefits the government has for them. So now what you said is implying this person the be Kokichi that he busted. Alright, one more reason that I'm trying to forget canon existed because WHAT THE FUCK

The institution is a mess of beans in itself. And of course, this isn’t really the fullest explanation of the situation since I’m just putting the pieces together, but the long and short is: detectives are fucky in this universe (Shuichi’s uncle was highly likely involved in all of this) and Oumas suffered as a result of them, Shuichi particularly (likely due to his weakness more than anything else). 

But as for the bolded, see again selective memory distribution as it seems anything that connects to specifics - say, specifics that lead to the Ultimate Hunt situation - is redacted in the killing game situation
