Funnily enough - I think Milo would be closer to Assata than Mariah
Mainly by Hobie's choice, which sounds kind of bizarre.
Mariah and Hobie have a complicated relationship, kinda.
They're close, and they care about each other to the end and back, but they also don't see eye to eye quite often.
Mariah isn't really good with kids. She had to grow up too quickly, and spent most of her childhood alone, dreading the moment her father got home. So when Hobie brings Assata home, she kinda holds her breath.
It hurts a little bit, seeing how kind Hobie is to Assata.
Mariah is also very far left, and many would call her an extremist. Case in point, Hobie would not let Assata be around when Mariah is broadcasting her radio show, or doing activism work.
Mariah is not above talking about casual violence. She's completely fine with being like 'that person needs a guitar to the head' (i'm being kind with her language here.)
So Hobie is kinda hesitant to have her around Assata.
But Assata seems to like Mariah and her aura, and Mariah is nice enough. She usually treats her how we see Miguel treat Mayday
Somehow, Milo is GREAT with kids.
Cause..he kinda acts like one. Milo can do funny voices, and cool tricks, and he gets kid logic. He's one of those people who likes impressing kids.
And since he's always at Hobie's boathouse and Hobie can't get him to leave, Hobie is....somewhat comfortable with leaving Assata with Milo. Milo seems to adore him, and Milo hasn't lost her. Yet.
He won't spoil her, but he lets her get away with anything (he thinks she can reasonably pull off).
He's not gonna give her a knife, she's a kid! She needs nunchucks. Get her dexterity up first. Then maybe a bo-staff if she's good at it.
He's more like a big brother instead of a babysitter, and growing up he gets her into old-school 70's games and later on, PS1 games with the console Hobie traded with a Spider-Person for.
Hobie would NEVER admit that Milo is a good babysitter though.
Half the time when he tells Diane that Assata is with Milo she's like 'SHES WHAT'.
