Hiii 👋🏽 it’s been a while!

I’ve got messages asking how I am and wondering about updates and I’m sorry I’ve been away. It’s just that I finished uni and… I got engaged 💍🤭 life’s happening! And I have a lot of things going on right now that are exciting and terrifying at the same time.

Which is why I haven’t been around and why I’ll probably continue to be as I sort out irl things. But thank you to those who still reach out and read/reread my stories! I apologize there’s not much I can offer you right now in terms of fic updates or new stories. And I don’t know when I’ll come back around.

I do hope you’re all doing okay and enjoying all the tannies’ content and gearing up for ksj1 and the return of our sunshine ☀️ things are looking up in our bangtan world 💜

Average hours of sleep: Hhhhh on a normal night 2-6 hours. If I don’t take my Adderall that day bc I forgot or I ran out then probably 10-12 hours. It’s really problematic.

Instrument: Violin, Percussion (mallet instruments specifically, I can destroy a Xylo or Vibraphone but I’m good at Marimba and Glock too), piano, guitar, and I’m trying to learn Ukulele and Sax.

What am I wearing: My best friends big af sweater (big bc I’m 5′1″ and 140 lbs while he’s 6′5″ and 210 lbs of solid muscle and I wanna die but it’s so comfy) and also a pair of his gym shorts because his clothes are comfy and my closet probably consists of more of his clothes than my own at this point lol

Hi everyone, it’s been awhile! Thank you for the numerous messages asking how I’ve been ☺️ I’m touched you still think about me even if I don’t have much to offer hehe

Well, since my recent life update (and to those wondering, there’s still no wedding date bc we gotta figure out how to be in the same country first 😅), it’s been a roller coaster ride. After the high from the proposal followed the low of another goodbye. And then another high bc I got a new job (!!) and then came the lowest of lows.

The Filipino in me couldn’t bear celebrating the holidays away from home. It was torture. I’ve never been this homesick. And seeing all the celebrations and the milestones that families and friends celebrated and not being there affected me in a way I never expected. It made me doubt a lot of things but also put them in perspective.

I’m still dealing with the anxiety and sadness and mess of emotions from the past few months. And I admit it’s rly tough. I break down every once in a while. I’m trying to find the joy in little things like I used to and I’m taking it one day at a time. Like I tend to do, I turn to BTS for that spark of hope and have been watching old content. I’m up to date with Love Scout (it’s giving me IWYTS vibes and I love it) and have started Lovely Runner bc I need to feel giddy! I’ve been rereading my old stories for comfort, too.

And now I’m here just to let you know how I’m doing bc you’ve all been too kind! 🥹 Tell me - what kdrama do you reco for that giddy/kilig feel?? Any new comfort bts fics I should read??

Hello, I hope you are safe and dry🙏🏽 I am finishing the book “The Kite Runner”, I think there’s only a hundred or so pages left. I actually bought the book because I got curious after reading your Tumblr bio. Now I know why it’s your favorite. I have never read such a painful yet profound book. I can count in one hand how many times I’ve cried over a phrase or a scene in a story. One would be when Cedric Diggory died - Chapter 32 of The Goblet of Fire or when Primrose Everdeen died in the Mockingjay, to name a few. But this one - I feel like bawling after the first tragedy (You know which scene, I can’t even begin to say it) and the chapters that followed. Anyway, I’m finishing this story in this rainy Sunday evening. Thank you for sharing such a great novel and I hope we can talk about this story and many others (maybe you can recommend some of your other favorites) in this space. Thank you.🙏🏽

Hi. This reply is long overdue but I’ve been constantly reading this message since I first saw it.

“The Kite Runner” is such a painfully haunting and beautiful book. It depicts pain and guilt and devotion in such a heart wrenching but sincere way and I’ve realized it’s why I love it so much - the hurt you feel is so authentic and human that it makes you appreciate love in a certain way. It makes you view life differently. It reminds of you the everyday painful stories behind wars and conflicts. It reminds you that sincere love carries pain and hope.

It’s truly an experience, and I’m so moved that I led you towards that book. Please read “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by the same author if you haven’t. The pain is different but Hosseini has such a beautiful way of making you experience that.

I haven’t been reading much recently so I can’t recommend much but “Americanah” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was another one that made me think and feel a lot.

And if I may, “Catching Heaven” by Sands Hall is a book that made me want to write when I was a 12-year old (even if it was definitely not for children 😅) I read it again as an adult and it hit different. It’s not plot-heavy. It’s very slice-of-life and emotional in certain ways. Definitely gave me western drama feels (I once wanted to write a fic that captured the same vibe of the book). It focused on feelings and reflection and the daily lives of sisters who wanted what the other had. I still look back on that novel even if it’s not a highly rated one. Check it out if you’d like! I’ll recommend more once I get back to reading again 😊

But thank you so much for this ask. I teared up the first time I read it. Stories are so powerful. It’s why I wanted to write in the first place. I hope The Kite Runner gave you a bit of hope at the end.
