i.
He meets her first outside the old inn, near the wall covered with ivy and the old fountain. It's a foggy night and he catches her sleepwalking. Her scent is entrancing, but he doesn't let himself feed, instead leading her back to her room once he wakes her.
When he almost loses control of himself, he flees.
ii.
He meets her again while walking to clear his mind, and she takes him back to her house. The entire place reeks of her wonderful scent, her pale face so angelic and pure and warm.
He finds comfort in her arms, though how he ends up there in the first place he can't say. All he knows is that she becomes home to him, a comfort amid the darkness.
iii.
The first time he kills her they are taking things too far, kissing and touching too much, lost in the heat of the moment. She foolishly offers her neck, and he more foolishly accepts her offer.
He holds her lifeless body and cries until she wakes, promising her it will never happen again.
iv.
The second time he kills her he leaves, unable to face her and admit what he's done and unable to to admit the thread of addiction.
v.
He decides to leave her for good, not returning any attempts to get in touch. She's too dangerous, too stressful, and he doesn't love her the way she wants to be loved and he knows it.
He adores her and misses her, he does, but he doesn't want to hurt her any more than he already has, so he stays away. Her letters he burns without opening them, watching the flames lick at the paper and melt the wax.
